Singh Auditorium – Padiglione Rama - Ospedale dell’Angelo Venezia - Mestre, June 19th - 20th - 21st - 22nd 2019 13th INTERNATIONAL SVO CONFERENCE ON HEAD & NECK CANCER Dear Colleague, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the 13th International SVO Conference on Head & Neck Cancer, which will take place in Venice on June 19th-22nd 2019 at the wonderful Rama Convention Auditorium of the ‘Ospedale dell’Angelo’ , organized in collaboration with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Can- cer Center of New York, the Mayo Clinic of Scottsdale, Arizona, and the Otorhi- nolaryngology Department of ‘ULSS 3 Serenissima’. For over 20 years, this event has been one of the most important opportunities for discussion and updating in the field of oncology and ENT for leading national and international experts. In my capacity as President of the triVeneto School of ENT disciplines (SVO), which is celebrating the twentieth anniversary I am honored to host international speakers from U.S. centers such as the MSKCC of New York and the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, centers from Georgia, European centers from Holland, Poland, Spain, Greece, Finland and Rumania as well as Malaysia; colleagues and friends with whom we have exchanged opinions for many years now, establishing active and constructive collaboration relations. I am equally proud of the presence of the best representatives of our national university and hospital ENT community, our healthcare and scientific research centers, our fellow oncologists and radiotherapists, our radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians, our anatomic pathologists and all those specialists partici- pating in the management of oncological patients. With this in mind, we have turned our attention to the multimodal management of cancer patients with a scientific program that will include numerous sessions dedicated to ear, skin, maxillae and anterior and lateral skull bases, salivary glands, oral cavity, oropharynx, larynx and thyroid. The new diagnostic possi- bilities, the new mini-invasive transoral, laser and robot-assisted approaches, technologically advanced methods, from HPV infection of oropharyngeal cancer to reconstructive plastic surgery, will be addressed by developing an interactive discussion among colleagues of different disciplines. Our program includes a session of Optional Monothematic Educational Courses for our doctors in training and young specialists according to a practical and operational approach. 13th INTERNATIONAL SVO CONFERENCE ON HEAD & NECK CANCER 12th INTERNATIONAL SVO CONFERENCE ON HEAD & NECK CANCER Furthermore, for the benefit of the “new generation”, a new edition of SVO Awards, cash prizes to invest for training, dedicated to Marco Fontana, Angelo Pradel and Antonio Pastore. The SVO also addresses our closest collaborators: nurses, audiometrists and speech therapists to whom a full five-session day will be dedicated with educa- tional contributions on the management of the ENT patients, professional liabi- lity, training and reconstructive plastic surgery. I wish all the participants of the 13th International Conference SVO that these days remain not only a tangible memory of a culturally important event, but also a valuable scientific and professional updating contribution, while reviving the social relations that underlie our common life and human progress.
