Day 1:

After meeting in the morning in Munich, you are shuttled to the village of Neukirchen • After a briefing and getting acquainted with the bikes, bike through pretty villages admiring local museums with folk art and artifacts • Cycle through the wide and green pastures , past ancient glacier- carved gorges via (lunch) to our home for the next three nights in Zell am See • Relax and freshen up before joining the group for a tasty welcome dinner at the hotel’s lakeside restaurant • (L, D) Overnight at the Grand Hotel

Day 2: Zell am See

For a change of altitude and scenery, ride a cable car to the Schmittenhöhe, with fabulous vistas over the mountains and lakes • Hike across the hilltops, on our way to a delicious lunch at a mountain hut, before heading back to the cable car • The option to return to the valley by means of a tandem paragliding trip (not included in the trip price) attracts the adventurers! • After we return to the hotel, opt to take a short bike ride around the lake, or choose to walk the pedestrian paths, or enjoy a boat ride on • After another delicious dinner, rest up for more fun the following day • (B, L, D) Overnight at the Grand Hotel

Day 3: Zell am See

Cycle through picturesque villages to the small pilgrimage village of Maria Alm and the market town of • Avid bicyclists can choose the side trip gently uphill through a quiet side-valley to Leogang and beyond before returning to Zell am See • This evening, enjoy a wonderful meal with stunning views of the lake • (B, D) Overnight at the Grand Hotel

A brief transfer brings us to Taxenbach, where we experience the thrill of white water rafting on the River • If you do not fancy rafting, you can decide to turn this into a biking day instead, as our bike trail along the Salzach links charming villages, beautiful churches and picturesque watermills • Walk along Grossarler Ache, a rushing mountain stream that carved out the Liechtensteinklamm gorge • Then proceed to , famous for its yearly Ski-Jumping championship • Our destination is Werfen, with a quaint main street • A night on your own will give you the opportunity to explore the churches and restaurants • (B, L) Overnight at Hotel Obauer

Day 5: Salzburg

In the morning you have the option to visit , a giant ice cave system and a true natural wonder • Continue to ride along the River Salzach, past the Gollinger Waterfall and flower-decked houses • Proceed to Hellbrunn Castle with its Italian-style garden and water plays • Meander along the tree-lined paths before arriving in Salzburg • Another evening on your own will allow you to stroll the streets of Salzburg • (B) Overnight at Hotel Auersperg

Day 6: Salzburg

This morning we gather for a guided walking tour of Salzburg • Shop, climb up to the fortress Hohensalzburg perched on a rocky hill or go on a flat afternoon bicycle ride along the Salzach River that will take you into • There are also optional bus tours to Salzburg’s surroundings taking you to the Bavarian Mountains with Eagle's Nest, or the lake district and the green-grass hills of "The Sound of Music" • End your day with a farewell dinner in town • (B, D) Overnight at Hotel Auersperg

Say "Auf Wiedersehen" to the land of Salzburg • We will drop you off at the Salzburg train station or the Munich airport, or the hotel of your choice in either Salzburg or Munich • (B)

Discovery: The magical regions of Salzburg and Tyrol overflow with majestic waterfalls, fantasy caves, ice sculptures and endless vistas of hills and mountains. At Schloss Hellbrunn castle, tour the gardens which are full of surprises, such as a mechanical theater with 113 figures set in motion by water to the music of an organ. In Salzburg, visit Mozart’s birth house and discover many of the hidden spots used as settings in “The Sound of Music.”

Nights 1-3: Grand Hotel Zell am See

Built in the late 19th century, the Grand Hotel Zell am See is situated at the edge of Lake Zell in an alpine landscape and offers modern rooms, as well as a restaurant serving hearty Austrian cuisine. Take full advantage of Grand Hotel's location on its private beach, relax in the beautiful indoor pool which boasts a panoramic view of the lake or enjoy all the spa has to offer: an extensive wellness area with saunas, solarium, a modern fitness-studio, massage rooms and squash court.

Night 4: Hotel Obauer

Located in an authentic, picture-perfect Austrian village, Hotel Obauer is set in a medieval building which was rebuilt to offer contemporary accommodations. Its surrounding mountains and the fortress were featured in movies that include “Where Eagles Dare” and “The Sound of Music.” Enjoy world-class dishes at the hotel’s superb restaurant, and take in the breathtaking views. Your stay at the Hotel Obauer will certainly be an experience not to forget.

Nights 5 &6 : Hotel Auersperg

A peaceful oasis near the center of town, Hotel Auersperg and its adjacent Villa Auersperg has been run by the same family for three generations. This comfortable hotel has a tasteful design, is surrounded by quiet gardens and has a sun terrace with fine views over the city.

On Day 1, we will meet you in the lobby of Hotel Excelsior in Munich at 8:30 a.m. After a transfer to Zell am See, lunch, a briefing and bike fitting, the activities begin. After breakfast on Day 7, we take you to the airport, train station, or the hotel of your choice in Munich (two to three hour transfer). Alternatively, depending on your travel plans, you can also be dropped off at the Salzburg train station.
