JAKOBSKAPELLE Kaprun Castle (see page 31)

The castle chapel, dedicated to St. James (the Greater) has been standing on a slope, to the west of the castle, since 1562. The chapel has a simple ground plan typical of the 16th Century. Its contemporary appearance with a so-called ridge turret (a wooden tower jutting up from the roof), square win- dows and interior design, is due to Barock renovations from 1743–1736. There is an inscription referring to this alteration on the triumphal arch.
