Considering Sites for Development in Parish Site Information Pack This pack contains: A Site Information Table This table sets out information about the constraints and opportunities for each site which have been considered. Depending on the constraints identified, we have concluded that there are either ‘significant constraints’ to development or ‘limited constraints’ to development. Site Maps These maps shows all of the sites which have been considered as part of this exercise.

Bigbury - General Comments Bigbury parish is located in the south of the district and includes the village of Bigbury on Sea, hamlets of Bigbury and St. Ann's Chapel and holiday park. The parish has a very limited provision of local services. Due to the lack of facilities in this location, any development will lead to an increase in use of the private car. Further assessments will be required to understand whether the area in general is a suitable location for development. The designated primary school is Primary. There is some capacity at the primary school. The designated secondary school is Academy which has limited capacity for additional pupils and contributions to facilities and transport may be required from new development. These settlements are entirely within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which is a nationally designated landscape. Importance is attached to the need to conserve the landscape and scenic beauty of these areas.

Access The roads leading to the site are very narrow and unlikely to be suitable for increased levels of traffic generated from any development. There are no dedicated footways. The site is detached from any residential development and distant from services and facilities. Landscape and Ecology The site is within the AONB and is very steep.
