1. Tah E Dil Se Likhta Hun Yaro, Arz E Musannif Yeh Kaafi Hai, Alfaaz Ke Gehne Hote Hain La Shaoor, Gar Jazba E Dil Na Ho Arz E Sukhan Mein
Duago hun yaro baqi ke lamhe yunhi kat te jaayen, Do saans tumhare do mere, kashtiye zeest paar lagayen. 3. Kya dhadakte dil ko zindadili kehte hain? Kya zinda hone ko zindagi kehte hain? Maana, ke saans ka hona zaruri hai , Hum to yaro har pal zindagi ji lete hain. 5. Zuban ho shirin dil mein dua, Jabin e niyaz hai khuda ki rah. 6. Gar taskin mile tujhe ai raat, teri baahon mein so jaun , Tasavvur tera dil mein rahe, tere rukhsat hone ke baad. 7. Kabhi ro diye kabhi ansoo piye, Tujhe ai zindagi hum muskura kar jiye 8. Us din ka soch ‘ashok’ jab yeh jahan na hoga tere paas, Kis jahan mein hoga tu aur kya hoga tere saath. 10. Lamhe jee raha hun, taqaazaa waqt ka hai, Kaun jaane kitni baqi hai lamhon ki zindagi. 11. 12. Main jis ko chahun khuda bana lun, Yeh huq hai tumko mujhko bhi? Yaqin ho jis pe khuda wahi hai, Main kyon na yaqin ko khuda bana lun? 13. Jis shauhrat ki hai talab tujhe, woh shauhrat udti chidiya hai, Jis daal pe ja kar panchhi baithe, halki hai woh daal 'ashok'? 14. -

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Whenever we set out on our individual journeys—professional or personal—we ultimately make it to the other end because others assist us along the way. Some of this help comes from people we know, and some from strangers in the most unexpected ways. It is impossible to thank everyone who played a part in helping me conceptualize and carry out this project because so much of the support I have gotten over the years has been behind the scenes, so to speak. Before all else, I am grateful to God for making paths appear, for creating ease, and for guiding me along the way. A big thank you to my advisor, Karin Wilkins—I could not have done this without your encouragement, inspiration, and input. By reading your work and taking your class, I found a space for my work and was reminded that it mattered. -

301. Haafiza gar chhin na jaaye to main jee na sakun Aur yaaden na hon to jee kar main kya karun. Dubti hai kashti to dekhe hai aasmaan, Dekhe hai jahan mujhko khudaya main kya karun. Haafiz khuda tumhara to saath main bhi chal chalun, Miley na manzil mujhko to bhala main kya karun. Ibadat ki hai main ne dua ka asar to hoga, Na miley taskin jahan mein to main kya karun. Rah woh dikhao mujhko jis pe main gar chalun Pahunch un main terey ghar elahi jo bhi main karun 302. Ghazab kiya aitbaar kiya tujh pe raat Aftab na nikalta to hum kya karte. Lutf o taskin hai zarur teri baahon mein, Neend teri na khulti to hum kya karte. Inayat hai teri ke tu aa jaati hai, Teri zulmat na hoti to hum kya karte. Zinda hai insaan to badaulat, Gar khwab na hote to hum kya karte. Kyun din se adavat raat yeh to bata Tum hotey na alag to hum kya karte. Yeh fitrat na hoti to hum kya karte 303. Jal raha hai jahan mera fikr hai kisey, Kehte hain muamala hai siyasi fikr hai kisey. Hindu aur musalman woh zamana hai kahan, Mulk ke baasihnade hain sab fikr hai kisey. Tamaashaye kashmir jaari hai fikr hai kisey, Na woh vaadiyan na aman o chain fikr hai kisey. -
