Honeywell Custom BIOS R7610 M46.zip patch has been released,
This patch has been approved by the Program Management Team for use by all sites using Honeywell platform based on Dell R7610 RACK workstation running on Windows 7 Professional 32bit and Windows 7 Professional 64bit Operating systems.
If you have any questions concerning this notice, please contact your local Honeywell National Response Center (NRC), Customer Response Center (CRC), Global TAC Center, or Solution Support Center (SSC).
Purpose of this Patches: This patch is used to upgrade all Honeywell platform based on Dell R7610 RACK workstation system BIOS from M43 to M46 to avoid the ME FW Update failed cosmetic error message reported during the existing system BIOS M43 update.
Anomalies Fixed by this Patch: • Fixed the cosmetic error “ME FW Update Failed: Update verification failed” message reported while flashing Honeywell Custom BIOS M43 on all Honeywell platform based on Dell R7610 RACK workstation.
Where to apply the patch: All customers using Honeywell platform based on Dell R7610 RACK workstation (refer table-1) can utilize this BIOS patch. Table-1 Workstation Model Honeywell Model # Honeywell Part # MZ-PCWS73 51155582-100 Dell R7610 MZ-PCWS74 51155582-200
Patch Pre-Requisites: System with CD/DVD RW drive and CD/DVD Burning software installed on it. Note: Honeywell supplied Dell R7610 systems comes with CD/DVD RW drive which will help user burn media distributed under this patch. This System BIOS update requires the system to reboot. As this patch requires reboot, you will lose process view from this node. Make sure the alternate station is available for process control during the patch application. This BIOS patch has to be flashed twice on the system to avoid the ME FW Failed message in future BIOS upgrade.

Patch Installation: 1. Download the patch from the location as mentioned in the notification alert. 2. Extract the ZIP file and burn them to CD Medias or removable flash drives.
Steps for flashing the BIOS:
1. Power On the Dell R7610 system and identify the System BIOS version by Pressing “F2” function key from Keyboard.
2. In System BIOS browse to GeneralÆSystem InformationÆBIOS Version =M46, if the System BIOS version is mentioned as “M46” then this patch is not applicable for your system. Exit from system BIOS and continue normal operations.
3. If the System BIOS is not mentioned as “M46” then this patch is applicable for your system, continue with below steps.
4. In System BIOS browse to GeneralÆ Boot Sequence is set to below order and exit. • CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive • Diskette Drive • HDD / RAID Adapter
5. Login to Windows using administrator privilege account.
6. Insert the Honeywell_Custom_BIOS_R7610_M46 file burned CD/DVD or Removable media to the appropriate drive or port.
7. Browse the removable media for R7610M46.exe at :< Drive letter>:\ Honeywell_Custom_BIOS_R7610_M46 \R7610M46.exe.
8. Right click on the R7610M46.exe and select Run as administrator The User Account Control dialog box is displayed.
9. Click Yes. The BIOS Update Program window appears.
10. Click Ok. The Confirm BIOS Replacement window appears.
11. Click Ok. The system will reboot automatically and start updating the BIOS.
ATTENTION: Do not turn off the power during the system BIOS flash it may harm your computer.

12. Updating System BIOS page appears.
13. Sending Intel ® Management Engine Firmware Update page appears.
ATTENTION: For the first time M46 BIOS flashing you will see this ME FW Update
failed message due to all Honeywell platforms based on Dell R7610 are installed with non-vPro motherboard. This message will not appear when you re-flash the M46 on this system.

14. ME FW Update Failed: Update verification failed message appears.
15. Updating EC BIOS page appears.
16. Updating BIOS Version Manifest page appears.
17. BIOS Update Successful. Rebooting your system message appears and system will reboot automatically.

18. Login to windows using administrator privilege account.
19. Execute the steps#7 to 11 once again.
20. Updating System BIOS page appears.
21. Updating EC BIOS page appears.
22. BIOS Update Successful. Rebooting your system message appears and system will reboot automatically.

23. Press F2 function key from the keyboard when Dell SPLASH screen appears in your monitor.
24. In System BIOS browse to GeneralÆSystem Information, verify BIOS Version=M46. Exit from system BIOS and continue normal operations.
