Annie Kenney Young Women’s Refuge 6272 7751 Provides accommodation and support for young women between the ages of 13 and 20, who are homeless, or having difficulty living at home and who are transient, pregnant, experiencing domestic violence or abuse. www.sheltertas.org.au/emergency/south.html

Bethlehem House 56 Warwick Street, , TAS 7000 6234 4594 (24 hour) Provides crisis accommodation, as well as medium to long term semi-supported accommodation for men aged 20 and over who need a communal setting, support, information, advocacy and referrals. Hobart Women’s Shelter 6273 8455 (24 hour) A 24-hour service that provides safe accommodation for women and children who are homeless or escaping domestic violence. Information, referrals and external accommodation is offered. www.Hobartwomensshelter.org.au

Housing Connect 1800 800 588 (24 hour) Housing Connect is a new one-stop for all housing and support needs. It provides one assessment for everything from emergency to long term accommodation. The Hobart office is mainly for dropping off forms. Jireh House 6232 3850 (24 hour) Provides crisis and medium term supported accommodation for women with or without children who are in abusive relationships and for those whose children are victims of abuse or at risk of abuse. Kennerly Children’s Home 9 Timsbury Road, Glenorchy, TAS 7010 6272 5900 Kennerley Children’s Home provides respite care for children aged 0 to 18 as well as providing short term foster care for up to 28 days and long term care for children under protection orders. Private Rental Tenancy Support Service (PRTSS) 1300 729 400 Private Rental Tenancy Support Service is a statewide tenancy support program providing free information on budgeting, tenancy issues and community services. They can negotiate with landlords and real estate agents. Salvation Army Men’s Supported Housing (SASH) 117 New Town Road, New Town, TAS 7008 6278 2817 Provides supported accommodation for men aged 17 to 55 with or without children, and a prison support program. www.salvationarmy.org.au/homeless.html#tas

Specialist Intervention Tenancy Service (STAY) 35 Tower Road, New Town, TAS 7008 6278 1660 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) The STAY program runs in partnership between Centacare and Australian Red Cross for homeless people or people at risk of homelessness with high and complex needs. Referral only accepted through Department of Justice and Mental Health Services, Housing Tasmania, Child, Youth and Family Services and Specialist Homelessness Services. Tenants Union of Tasmania 166 Macquarie Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 6223 2641 or 1300 652 641 (Mon-Fri 9.30am-4pm) Provides information on bonds, repairs, rent, leases, notices, breaches, locks and security and general information and advice to both public and private tenants statewide. Advocacy Tasmania Inc. (ATI) Suite 6, 236-244 Sandy Bay Road, Sandy Bay, TAS 7005 1800 005 131 or 6224 2240 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm) A free, confidential statewide service providing information to users of ATOD services about their rights and assisting them to resolve problems or complaints about accessing and using ATOD services. This service can act on their behalf if necessary. It is available to individuals and their supporters.

Alcohol and Drug Information Service (ADIS) 1800 811 994 (24 hours) ADIS is a telephone service providing information, advice and referrals on any matter involving alcohol or other drugs. www.dhhs.tas.gov.au/mentalhealth/alcohol_and_drug

Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) - South 1300 139 641 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) ADS is a key provider of specialist treatment services for Tasmanians who are affected by alcohol and drug use. The service aims to ensure that people affected by alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) use have access to appropriate, timely, effective and quality treatment services, support and interventions which are based on contemporary best practice. The service provides three key programs:

Psychosocial Interventions and Support: Including outreach service, relapse prevention, management of complex needs, brief and early interventions, smoking cessation and youth services

Opioid Pharmacotherapy: The provision of prescribed medication to enable Opioid users to reduce or stop illegal, harmful or dangerous drug use. Pharmacotherapy is provided by doctors in the ADS and by accredited general practitioners in the community. Dosing occurs in community pharmacies and through two ADS-run pharmacies located in St Johns Park, New Town and the new Clarence Integrated Care Centre at Rosny.

Withdrawal Management: ADS manages a specialist residential withdrawal management service at St Johns Park, New Town. The service is a 10 bed unit providing statewide withdrawal management services.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Council (ATDC) Level 1, 175 Collins Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 or PO Box 4702, Bathurst Street Post Office, Hobart, TAS 7000 6231 5002 The ATDC is the peak body representing the interests of community sector organisations (CSOs) that provide services to people with substance misuse issues in Tasmania. The ATDC has a key role in advocating for adequate systemic support and funding for the delivery of evidence-based alcohol, tobacco and other drug initiatives. ATDC supports workforce development through training, policy and developmental projects with, and on behalf of, the sector. The ATDC represents a broad range of service providers and individuals working in prevention, promotion, early intervention, and treatment, research and harm reduction.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Southern Tasmania McDougall Building, Ellerslie Road, Battery Point, TAS 7004 6234 8711 (note: messages can be left at all times) Alcoholics Anonymous is a network of self-help groups for people with alcohol issues. Groups are situated in a number of locations throughout southern Tasmania. The Bridge Program - Salvation Army Hobart Creek Road, New Town, TAS 7008 6278 8140 (Mon-Fri 8.30am-4.30pm) The Bridge Program provides an eight week residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program and a day program rehabilitation centre for men and women over the age of 18. Community Treatment programs are provided for individuals and families. The Bridge Program has a ‘place- of-safety’ unit operating 24 hours a day and is accessible through the Tasmanian Police Service. Cannabis Information and Helpline 1800 304 050 (helpline) This helpline provides Information, support and referrals for cannabis users, their families and friends. Visit the National Cannabis prevention and information centre online at www.ncpic.org.au

Care Coordination Services 18 Watchorn Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 FREECALL 1800 243 232 (Mon-Fri 9am -5pm) Care Coordination services are provided statewide by Anglicare, assisting people with multiple and complex needs. Court Mandated Diversion (CMD) Program 27 Liverpool Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 6216 4428 The CMD program provides magistrates with an option to divert eligible offenders into treatment for their drug use through either the bail or sentencing process. There are three ways diversion into drug treatment can occur after a plea of guilty or a finding of guilt:  Conditions can be attached to a bail order.  Conditions can be attached to a community based order, eg. suspended sentence or probation.  Through a drug treatment order where a Magistrate will continually review offender progress on the order. www.magistratescourt.tas.gov.au/divisions/criminal__and__general/court_mandated_diversion

Drug Education Network (DEN) 1/222 Elizabeth Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 6211 2350 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) A national resource centre with up-to-date information about alcohol and other drugs. They also offer training, support and referrals for family members. DEN provides information, resources, brochures and factsheets, education, training and professional development in relation to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs as well as addictions, health promotion and prevention strategies. Family Drug Support 1300 368 186 (24-hour helpline) A telephone service staffed by volunteers with first-hand experience of family members with drug or alcohol problems. They provide information and support for families affected by drug or alcohol issues. Please see their website for further information. www.fds.org.au

Glenorchy Illicit Drug Service (GIDS) 406 Main Road, Glenorchy, TAS 7010 FREECALL 1800 243 232 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) Anglicare’s GIDS is a free service that offers information, education and counselling to young people aged between 12 and 25 as well as their family members and friends. GIDS also provides community education including workshops in schools. It supports the family to make positive changes for parents and their children. The Link Youth Health Service 57 Liverpool Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 6231 2927 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) Services provided to young people aged 12 to 25 including access to shower, toilet, laundry facilities, personal hygiene items, mail service, needle and syringe program and telephone service for health-related calls. Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) - Hobart 18 Watchorn Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 FREECALL 1800 243 232 (Mon-Fri 12.30pm-5pm) Anglicare’s NSP provides sterile equipment, information, education, support and referrals to people who access the service. A 24-hour vending machine is located at the lower section of the building near the car park. A small cost is involved to use the vending machine. Pulse Youth Health South 2 Terry Street, Glenorchy, TAS 7010 6233 8900 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, closed 1pm-2pm) Provides assessment, brief intervention, advocacy and referral for young people aged 12 to 24. Pulse also helps with the cost of health items including condoms and pregnancy testing and support. A Sexual Health GP clinic is held once a week by appointment. Pulse Youth Health South also has an alcohol and drug counsellor every Friday and a music room and studio for young people to use. On Friday afternoons from 2pm to 4.30pm there is open access where young people can drop in for a chat with workers from different services, use computers, have a snack or a game of eight ball. Baptcare Gateway Services 1800 171 233 Baptcare Gateway is an assessment, planning and referral service that provides a clear point of contact for people seeking information, support and services in their local community. This includes eligibility and access to specialist youth, family and disability support services offered by a range of service providers. The Gateway also determines people’s eligibility for specialist disability services. Baptcare keeps the South, West and North Needs Registers for supported accommodation, community access, individual support packages and one-off funding (including equipment).

Local Coordination Service (LAC): Provides person-centred casework for people with a disability aged up to 65 years who live in the community and require support to access services to live independently. A Baptcare staff member works with the person with a disability, and where appropriate parents and carers, to plan and support them to meet their needs and goals. Referral to LAC is via Gateway.

Integrated Family Support Services (IFSS): Works with families who require support and practical assistance with parenting and other family concerns. IFSS provides casework assistance, group work, parenting and practical support, information and referral for families into networks of support and their local community. Referral to the IFSS is via Gateway.

Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS): A practical and therapeutic support service for young people aged 10 to 18 living in the South West. TYSS works with young people who are highly disengaged from education, family and community, or who may be at risk of entering or escalating within the Child Protection or Youth Justice systems. Child Protection Advice & Referral Service 1300 737 639 This statewide number can be used 24 hours-a-day to report concerns about child abuse or neglect. However, outside usual business hours (weekdays 9am-5pm) it should only be used to report emergencies or urgent concerns regarding risk of immediate harm.

Community Corrections Tasmania 144 Bathurst Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 6233 3086 Supervises offenders on probation, parole, drug treatment and community service orders. FIN Tas is committed to helping parents participate equally in the child protection process. Mission Australia Gateway Services Level 1, 10 Bayfield St, Rosny Park, TAS 7018 1800 171 233 Mission Australia Gateway is an assessment, planning and referral service that provides a clear point of contact for people seeking information, support and services in their local community. This includes eligibility and access to specialist youth, family and disability support services offered by a range of service providers. The Gateway also determines people’s eligibility for specialist disability services. Mission Australia keeps the Southeast Needs Registers for supported accommodation, community access, individual support packages and one-off funding including equipment.

Local Area Coordination (LAC): Offers a unique person-centred approach to people living with a disability. We provide support to meet the person’s needs by jointly developing a plan focusing on goals and aspirations through discussion. LAC provides support accessing resources and services for people at key transition points in their lives such as exiting the education system or obtaining employment. It offers support with accommodation, life skills programs, respite, supports within the person’s home and funds for specialised equipment. Referral to LAC is via Gateway.

Integrated Family Support Services (IFSS): Works with families who require support and practical assistance with parenting and other family concerns. IFSS provides casework assistance, group work, parenting and practical support, information and referral for families into networks of support and their local community. Referral to IFSS is via the Gateway.

Targeted Youth Support Services (TYSS): A practical and therapeutic support service for young people aged 10 to18 living in the Southeast. TYSS works with young people who are highly disengaged from education, family and community, or who may be at risk of entering or escalating within the Child Protection or Youth Justice systems. Referral to TYSS is via Gateway.

Grandparents and Relatives Raising Children (GRRC): Support to grandparents and other relatives who have recently assumed the role of primary carers of their grandchildren or related children. The program provides a range of services targeted to the issues faced by grandparents and related carers. Red Cross Post Mentoring Program Shop 6, 28 Greenpoint Road, Bridgewater, TAS 7030 6235 6014 Supports prisoners who are exiting the justice system to successfully return to the community. The program links prisoners with a volunteer up to three months pre-release and then for a period of up to 12 months after release. The volunteer provides support to link in with sporting clubs, recreational activities and study.

Psychosocial Interventions and Support: Outreach, relapse prevention, management of complex needs, brief and early interventions, smoking cessation and youth services.

Opioid Pharmacotherapy: Provision of prescribed medication to enable opioid users to reduce or stop illegal, harmful or dangerous drug use. Pharmacotherapy is provided by doctors in the ADS and by accredited GPs in the community. Dosing occurs in community pharmacies and through two ADS-run pharmacies in St Johns Park, New Town and the new Clarence Integrated Care Centre at Rosny.

The service ensures that people affected by alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) use have access to appropriate, timely, effective and quality treatment services, support and interventions which are based on contemporary best practice. The service provides three key programs:

Psychosocial Interventions and Support: Including outreach service, relapse prevention, management of complex needs, brief and early interventions, smoking cessation and youth services.

Opioid Pharmacotherapy: The provision of prescribed medication to enable opioid users to reduce or stop illegal, harmful or dangerous drug use. Pharmacotherapy is provided by doctors in the ADS and by accredited general practitioners in the community. Dosing occurs in community pharmacies and through two ADS-run pharmacies located in St Johns Park, New Town and the new Clarence Integrated Care Centre at Rosny.
