We will get to know you; you will get to know us. You will spend time doing some experiments, music, art, sports, short hikes – lots and lots of time outdoors! Lets Get Growing...... $180 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $59 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63185 Ages 6–10: Gardening is a great way for kids to learn science concepts and have fun. The week will include creative hands-on projects with food and flowers, learning about soil the life cycle of plants why gardens need creatures like birds, bees and butterflies.

Hands In Clay and Drawing...... $205 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 9am–3pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63187 Ages 9–14: Spend your day learning new drawing techniques and working on the potter’s wheel centering clay, or working with coils or slabs of clay to make vases, cups or bowls. We will glaze and fire several pieces. Charcoal, ink, pencil, pastels, clay, slip and glazes may be used. Dress for mess! Bring a smock and a snack for morning break. Mount Fitness: Fun in the Sun...... $199 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 9am–3pm $25 non-waiverable fee 63197 Ages 6–11: This is one of our most popular programs! Hiking, swimming, fun activities and movies will make this the highlight of the summer. Instructor: Brian Burpee. Includes lunch. WEEK 3 July 12–16

American Girl Doll...... $209 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63200 Ages 6–9: You will travel through history with their doll as we will jump into the past to learn about many events that have changed our world. We will explore history through classic stories and make crafts and do activities based on them. You will receive an 18” doll the first day of class.

Learn about different building strategies while we relax and play. Campers will design mini wooden derby cars to race while also learning the history behind the derby. Escape from the heat and let your imagination run wild! Some fun to take home.

Green Energy...... $209 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63202 Ages 10–13: An en”light”ening introduction to clean, green energy sources. Discover that energy can be generated from the sun, wind, water, and other renewable sources. Students will also pick up some practical energy-saving tips to use in everyday life. A visit to the MWCC turbines and the BioMass plant is included. Teen Art School-Printmaking & Book Arts ������������������������������������������������������������������������$245 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 9am–3pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63203 Ages 13–18 (Grades 8–12): This studio art program is designed for teens interested in visual arts or seeking to create work for a portfolio. This year the focus will be on printmaking and book arts – from hand-stitched bindings for sketchbooks and journals, hand-carved rubber stamps, fine art linocut and etchings printed using the college’s professional printing presses. You’ll leave with the power to make your own books and multiples of your art. Sponsored by the MWCC Art Department. Space is limited to 6 students. Spotlight on Musical Theatre...... $229 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F July 12–15 & July 19–22 9am–3pm $40 non-waiverable fee The DRAMA program is back! Music, dance, and much more will be explored. Instruction is live and in person but the final show will be recorded and streamed for viewing. Programs will include classes in acting, music, and dance, theatre games, supervised recreation and more. This year’s theme is – “Hurray for Hollywood!” Junior Troupe. You will learn the game and develop new foot skills. Gerry Padilla and staff strive to create a positive learning experience for all. BUGZ!...... $209 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63205 Ages 6–9: If it crawls, flies, squirms, or chirps, we want it! Become a mini entomologist as we investigate what makes a bug... a bug! We’ll go look for some bugs in nature and learn about beneficial insects like spiders, earth worms, and lady bugs. We’ll look at honey bees and their role on our earth. We’ll create ant farms and small compost bins for worms. Campers will plant flowers to help local pollinators.

Get Outdoors!...... $209 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63206 Ages 8–12: Explore the great outdoors! This camp will be mostly outdoors, weather permitting. We will learn about knot tying, sun tracking, hiking, water purification, bird watching, and use microscopes to look at the tiny life in our local pond. We will also learn how to make solar oven brownies for a snack!

Chemistry ABCs...... $209 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63209 Ages 6–9: We all know what happens when you mix baking soda and vinegar, but did you know you can use rock salt from the road to make ice cream? This exploration into household chemistry will have us doing just that! We’ll make slime, volcanoes, and huge body sized bubbles. We’ll see some cool demonstrations like making elephant toothpaste! Some items are take home with instructions to make at home.

Forensic Science...... $209 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63210 Ages 10–13: Ever wanted to be an investigator? We’ll have a live crime scene, with finger printing, and ballistics. Be ready to focus on the details. Forensic Science is exciting and fun! We will have a visit from a local police department.

Mount Fitness: Martial Arts...... $99 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE H 9am–12pm 63212 Ages 5–13: Martial arts are an excellent way for young people to build strength and flexibility, gain focus and confidence, and build valuable self-protection skills. You will learn about different martial arts while guided through safe, fun, and engaging skill-based solo and partner drills (defending and attacking, both standing and on the ground). Examples: use punching bags and focus mitts, kick padded targets, block and deflect strikes (from pool noodles), practice combinations on punching bags, and practice ground attacks with a grappling dummy. Instructor: Nick Babin, Rankings in Karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Aiki Ju Jutsu.

Yoga for Kids...... $99 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE H 9am–12pm 63213 Ages 6–10: Join us for summer fun, learning about YOGA and its many benefits. You will learn about yoga postures, breath work, yoga games, movement exploration with music, mindfulness (mandala coloring, labyrinth activities), crafts and more! Instructor: Paula Brisbois.

Outer Space...... $209 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63214 Ages 6–9: Ever look up at the stars and wonder what is going on up there in space? Learn about stars, planets, comets, and satellites as we create our own full sized planetarium in our room! We will create constellations that light up and a full room-size solar system. We will even track the International Space Station and watch live NASA broadcasts! All items go home with you.

Take Flight...... $209 KID’s CHOICE: o YES! o NO o MAYBE F 8:30am–4pm $79 non-waiverable fee Includes materials 63215 Ages 9–12: Soar high above the ground with all things that fly. In this camp, we’ll learn about aviation and how things fly. We’ll create extreme paper airplanes that can fly up to 100 feet. We’ll have balloon rocket zip line races, launch water and air powered rockets, and learn about heliballs. Heliballs, stomp rockets, and more go home with you.
