LUKE & CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC BRINGS HOME RUH FOUNDATION’S EVERY HEART MATTERS CAMPAIGN

With the help of hometown hockey stars, of the and Brayden Schenn of the , the Royal University Hospital Foundation has wrapped up the Every Heart Matters Campaign! Thanks to the golfers, sponsors, volunteers and guest NHL players, the Luke & Brayden Schenn Celebrity Golf Classic 2012 raised $220,000.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament made a hole in one by bringing home the Royal University Hospital Foundation’s $5.5 million Every Heart Matters Campaign to build the province’s first, full-time Cardiac Electrophysiology lab and program at RUH to treat people living with heart rhythm disorders.

The tournament teed off on June 14th with an autograph session at River Landing hosted by the Presenting Sponsor, & Region Home Builders’ Association . The fun moved to the Sheraton Cavalier for the evening dinner and auction, where more than $120,000 was raised by auctioning NHL memorabilia and the opportunity to golf with an NHL star. Friday, June 15 th , golfers hit the links at Moonlake Golf & Country Club.

The Royal University Hospital Foundation is grateful for the generosity of Luke and Brayden Schenn for continuing the legacy of the RUH Foundation’s 7 th annual Celebrity Golf Classic. Since its inception in 1983, RUH Foundation has raised more than $83.5 million for priority patient care, research and education at Royal University Hospital.
