LAST GAME (Nov. 28) - Pittsburgh 3 at Colorado 6 Nathan MacKinnon had a goal and three assists to lead the Avs to their sixth consecutive win, a 6-3 victory over the Penguins. Gabriel Landeskog scored the game winner and had an assist, while Mikko Rantanen added two helpers. Sidney Crosby had a hat trick for Pittsburgh.

TONIGHT The Avalanche wraps up a two-game homestand tonight against the St. Louis at Pepsi Center. The Avs opened the home stay with a 6-3 victory over the Penguins on Wednesday for their sixth consecutive win. The Avs, who are in a stretch that has them playing 19-of- 28 away from home, begin a four-game road trip on Sunday night in Detroit.

• Colorado has won six straight games and is 8-0-1 in its last nine contests. • The Avalanche's six-game win streak is tied with Washington for the longest active streak in the NHL and tied for the second longest this season (Buffalo, 10). • Colorado is 3-0-1 in its last four at home and has won five straight games on the road, the club's longest road winning streak since March 25-April 10, 2014 (five). • The Avs, who currently rank second in the conference with 34 points (15-6-4), have equaled their fourth best record after 25 games in Avalanche/Nordiques franchise history:

BEST RECORDS AFTER 25 GAMES, FRANCHISE HISTORY 18-4-3 39 2000-01 19-6-0 38 2013-14 17-5-3 37 1994-95 15-6-4 34 2018-19 15-6-4 34 1995-96 15-6-4 34 1996-97

• Colorado is 8-3-2 this month and with a win tonight would tie their franchise record for wins in November (2003-04 and 2013-14). • Tonight is Nathan MacKinnon's 400th NHL game and J.T. Compher's 100th. Erik Johnson needs one assist for 100. • The Avs are 1-1-0 in their blue third jerseys.

YOUR LEAGUE LEADER(S) Mikko Rantanen leads the NHL in scoring with 42 points (10g/32a), followed by Nathan MacKinnon with 41 (18g/23a). It's the two highest point totals through 25 games in Avalanche history. The previous was 37 by Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg in 1995-96. Nathan's 18 goals are also the most by a Colorado player through 25 contests, topping Sakic's 16 in 1995-96, while Rantanen's 32 assists are the most helpers through 25. They are the sixth set of NHL teammates in the last 20 years to be the first players to reach 40 points in any season. In fact, the last teammates to have this many points (83) at the end of November was Pittsburgh's (52) and Jaromir Jagr (47) in 1995-96.

NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER MacKinnon is tied with Nikita Kucherov for the NHL lead with 23 points (9g/14a) in 13 games this month, which equals the Avalanche record for scoring in November. Forsberg also had 23 points in 1995-96. Rantanen's 21 points (5g/16a) this month are tied for fourth in the league.

MULTIPLICITY MacKinnon (6-9=15) and Rantanen (3-10=13) enter tonight's game with streaks of six consecutive multiple-point games, which ties the Avalanche record. Sakic had a streak of six straight multi-point games from March 2-14, 2000 and Oct. 9-22, 1997, while Forsberg did the same from Oct 25-Nov 5, 1995. The franchise mark is eight straight multi-point games by Peter Stastny in 1981-82. MacKinnon and Rantanen, who have combined for 28 points (9g/19a) in their last six games, are just the fifth set of teammates in the last 30 years to have simultaneously posted multiple points in six or more games and the first since Buffalo's Alexander Mogilny and Pat LaFontaine from Dec. 31-Jan. 10, 1993 (also six). The last duo with a longer streak was Mario Lemieux and Kevin Stevens (eight games) earlier in that 1992-93 campaign. MacKinnon and Rantanen are tied for the NHL lead with 14 multi-point games in 2018-19.

MORE RANTANEN • Rantanen has held at least a share of the NHL scoring lead for each of the last 39 days since the morning of Oct. 23. He’s been the outright leader for 33 of those 39 days. • The only times an Avalanche player led the NHL in scoring at the end of November was in 1996-97, when Sakic and Forsberg co-led with 36 points, and in 2003-04, when Alex Tanguay shared the NHL lead with Vancouver's Markus Naslund (32). • Surpassed the 40-point mark on Tuesday night in Nashville, the first NHL player to hit 40 points in 2018-19. Only once in Avalanche/ Nordiques franchise history has a player been the first to 40 points in a season. In 1997-98, Forsberg (9g/31a) recorded his 40th point on Dec. 12 to end the day tied with Philadelphia’s John LeClair (24g/16a). • Mikko was also the first player to reach 30 points this season.

LINE OF FIRE Colorado's top line of Landeskog (28)—MacKinnon (41)—Rantanen (42) has combined for 111 points (43g/68a) in 25 contests this season, the most points of any three teammates through 25 games since Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza combined for 125 through 25 contests with Ottawa in 2005-06. • Colorado’s threesome has factored on 53 of 95 goals this season (56%). • MacKinnon/Rantanen are by far the most frequent point pair in the NHL, as 34 times they've BOTH been involved in a goal. • 14 times all three forwards have gotten points on the same goal. • 44 times at least two of the three has factored on a goal. • Rantanen assisted on each of MacKinnon's first 17 goals until Nathan's empty-netter on Wednesday against Pittsburgh.

STREAKING GOALIES • Semyon Varlamov has won his last five starts, posting a .928 Sv% and 2.21 GAA during this stretch (299 min, 153 SA, 11 GA). With a win tonight he would match his career-long winning streak done four times (last: Dec. 7-19, 2015). • Philipp Grubauer is 6-0-2 in his last eight starts, one shy of his longest streak without a regulation loss (7-0-2 from Nov. 15, 2016 to Jan. 21, 2017).

GETTING OFFENSIVE The Avs are the highest scoring team in the NHL, averaging 3.80 goals-per-game. Colorado's 95 goals rank second to Tampa (97). Wednesday's 6-3 victory over the Penguins marked the sixth time this season that the Avalanche has scored six or more goals in a game, tops in the NHL. The Avs lead all teams in third-period goals (39) and combined second and third-period scoring (72).

THAT'S THE POWER OF LOVE The Avs own the top-ranked power play in the league at 31.7% (26/82). The PP unit is 11-for-23 (47.8%) over the last eight contests.

AVS & BLUES Tonight is the first of four meetings and the first of two in Denver. The Avs finished 2-3-0 against the Blues last year but did win the final two matchups, including the "winner-take-all" Game 82 to secure the final playoff spot.

Colorado is 3-1-0 on the first game of a back-to-back this year and 2-1-1 on the second game.

SHORT AND TO THE POINT J.T. Compher scored two shorthanded goals on the same penalty kill in the first period on Nov. 23 at Arizona. Compher's effort tied the franchise record for shorthanded goals in a game (fourth time) and a period (second time). He set a new franchise record for the fastest two shorthanded goals (1:25) and became the first player in franchise history to score two SHG on the same opponent power- play chance. Compher became the 20th NHL player to score two shorthanded goals in a span of two minutes or less since 1933-34 and just the fourth in the past 15 years.
