The trip is led by Peter Schreyer, Crealdé’s Executive Director since 1995 and an internationally exhibited photographer, who is known for his documentary projects that celebrate the history and heritage of communities in a contemporary context. Over the past three decades, he has crafted photographic tours throughout Florida, the American West and to his native Switzerland that appeal to cultural travelers and photographers of all skill levels. Peter has received numerous grants and acclamations for his work, including a 1993-94 Fellowship in Visual Arts from the State of Florida. In 2004-2005, the Swiss Camera Museum held a major retrospective exhibition of his American documentary photography. He is the founder of the Hannibal Square Heritage Center, a cultural facility that pays tribute to community heritage through documentary photography, oral history and public art. In 2009, Peter was named Arts Educator of the Year by United Arts of Central Florida. Following his 2015 solo exhibition at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College, Winter Park, a portfolio of his Florida archival photographs was purchased for the museum’s prestigious Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art.
