  • Even As You Read This, One of Indian Aviation's Biggest Deals May Be
1 Revue de presse Semaine 47 (18-24 Novembre 2018) Even as you read this, one of Indian aviation’s biggest deals may be coming together. The Tata Group may finally buy out the beleaguered Jet Airways which, for a third quarter in a row, posted huge losses (to the tune of Rs 1,297 crore) last week. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran is said to be keen on the acquisition, and has apparently set the ball rolling with a feasibility study. If it works out, the Tatas will become a majority player in the skies, with this third acquisition after Vistara and Air Asia. Or not. When Chandrasekaran ran the idea by the Board recently, he did not exactly receive an enthusiastic response. Among other things, a $2 billion capital infusion may be too large a price to pay to acquire only 24 per cent of market share. Analysts say at the heart of the dilemma is a clash of personalities. Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata is allegedly not in favour of a deal unless Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal, who owns a 51 per cent stake, steps down. “Jet Airways might survive, but I don’t know if Naresh Goyal will,” says Kuljit Singh, a partner at Ernst & Young. Jet Airways has outlasted post-Liberalisation industry shakedowns; global fuel crises; and the 2008 recession. But, as of June 30 this year, the company’s net debt stood at Rs 7,364 crore – down from Rs 8,149 crore on March 31, 2018. Its stock price has also dipped sharply -- from Rs 883 in January to Rs 163 recently.

CENTRAL INDUSTRIAL SECURITY FORCE CITIZEN'S CHARTER INTRODUCTION:- We are one of the specialized Central Para-military Forces of India under Ministry of Home Affairs. We came into existence in the year 1969 with a meagre strength of about 3000 men for providing security to Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Government Installations. Today we have grown up to a strength of about 1, 05,000 officers and men and taken up a multi faceted role in the field of internal security which includes Airport Security, Security of Government Building, Monument Security, Disaster Management, VIP Security and security of critical installations like Delhi Metro in addition to our traditional role of providing industrial security. Currently we are providing security to 277 units including 56 domestic and international airports spread all over the country. We also have a Fire Wing which looks after the fire protection and fire prevention services of 77 units with a strength of about 5000 well trained man power. Hitherto our services were only available to Government Organisations and PSUs but by amendment in CISF Act the Government of India has permitted us to offer Consultancy Services in the field of Security and Fire Protection to public as well as private sector. Accordingly we have a Consultancy Wing located at our Force Head Quarters, which is ISO 9001: 2000 certified and offers its Consultancy Services to both the Government and the Non Government Organizations. • Executive Summary
Project : Holistic Development of Surat Airport Including Extension of Terminal Building, Apron and Construction of Parallel Taxi Track PFR Promoter : Airports Authority of India EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Surat Airport is located on Magdalla - Dumas Road towards the famous Dumas Beach on the South-West part of the city, approximately 20kms from the city center. The Airport currently serves Surat city with a population of 6 million and serves the South Gujarat region with an overall population of 12 million, Besides the intrastate connectivity provided by Surat based NSOP, with Ahmedabad, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Rajkot; the city has had limited air connectivity, for many long years, until recently. The new airport terminal was inaugurated in the year 2009 and licensed by the DGCA as aerodrome for public use in 2011 as per the ICAO guidelines. Air India, the National carrier had started its operation since May, 2007 and remained the sole service provider to STV, until February, 2012 when SpiceJet a Private LCC, provided the desperately needed additional connectivity. However, the service of SpiceJet came to an abrupt end; when one of the aircraft hit a wandering buffalo on the runway while take-off resulting in immediate & indefinite termination of service in late 2014. Although with scanty connectivity provided by Scheduled Airlines, the airport otherwise has been patronized regularly by Charter Services of MNCs from Hazira, VVIP Movements (PMOI), State Government (CMGUJ), Air force(C 17 Globe master), Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Heliport for Pvt. operators, Pilot Training Academy and lately by a Non Scheduled Operator - Ventura Air Connect, which is a NSOP based out of Surat.
