SAINTS PETER AND PAUL SCHOOL R Mrs. Cindy Baldrige, Principal R 724R774R4450 ext. 241 1 Dear Parishioners, Today our celebration of the birth of Jesus continues with the Feast of the Epiphany. The Magi or Wisemen followed a star which was the manifestation or “epiphany” of the glorious light and signal of Jesus being born. They received the epiphany and became, because of their pilgrimage to Bethlehem, an epiphany to others because of their experience of the Christ. Hopefully, that can be true for us too. We both receive the manifestation of the presence of God, hopefully, and become the manifestation of God to others by our faith, hope and charity. This challenge takes on an even deeper meaning because of the significance of tomorrow’s date: January 4, 2021. It’s the feast day of Americanborn St. Elizabeth Seton and it’s my youngest brother’s birthday. But, it is the day the historic moment on which we become a new parish. OUR LADY OF THE VALLEY Beaver County, Since we are being established in the Christmas Season and so close to the Epiphany, I’m hoping those are graces that will become a deep part of our identity as a parish. May we be people who manifest the light of Christ to others even as we tend that light in ourselves. May we live Christmas all year, as Mr. Dickens hopes, and find Christ in one another. Your priests and parish staff pledge themselves to serve you as best we can. As in all adjustments, there will be glitches and issues to be sure, but our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of the Valley, will guide us on our path. Fr. Bob

8 Michael Urban returns (“SSPP Class of 2018”) to SSPP with Eagle Scout Project

Michael Urban always remembered how his principal wanted to clean up the “Cage”. The “Cage”, located behind the school, is used at recess by the seventh and eighth grade students. Michael used his me, talents, and energies to clean up the area. Michael’s Eagle Scout project consisted of raising $1,710. He sought $1,000 in donated supplies and had the assistance of several scouts and adults who helped him finish off the area with a clean look. This consisted of painted basketball hoops, repaired fence poles , resurfacing of the grounds along with painted court lines, four square, and hopscotch! Thank you Michael and helpers for a great job.

COVID POEM (Laura Kelley Fanuucci)

When this is over, May we never again Take for granted A handshake with a stranger Full shelves at the store Conversations with neighbors A crowded theater The taste of Communion A routine checkup The school rush each morning Coffee with a friend The stadium roaring Each deep breath A boring Tuesday Life itself.

When this ends, May we find That we have become More like the people We wanted to be We were called to be We hoped to be And may we stay That way - better For each other Because of the worst.
