Download Media Guide 22−26 2020 POKLJUKA MEDIA GUIDE .. WELCOME IN LESS THAN THREE DECADES POKLJUKA HAS BECOME A REGULAR FEATURE MY WAY OF OF WORLD BIATHLON. Only few still remember the first biathlon competitions in Slovenia. With rare intermissions, Pokljuka has been a part of the global biathlon family ever since the BEING ACTIVE. 1992/93 season. Pokljuka’s beginnings were humble. The race was held at an improvised snow stadium with an improvis ed press centre in a classroom at the nearby barracks; at that time, biathlon had a much more humble status than today, when it ranks among the top winter sports. This was followed by constant development and changes, the first World Cup in 2001, and the renovation of the Biathlon Centre a decade ago; new challenges are already in store. Next year, Rudno polje will once again be hosting the World Championships Biathlon, the biggest winter sporting event in Slovenia to date. As Pokljuka and the conditions at the Biathlon Centre were continuously improving, so were Slovenian competitors. Biathlon is a combination of five events − individual, sprint, pursuit, relay, and mass start. In this game, the athletes compete in cross country skiing and shoot series of targets from a distance. The athletes need to be fast, focussed, and have more stamina. Every time the target is missed the biathlete either gets an additional time or distance penalty. It is important that the skier is fast enough to maintain the competition but should be slow enough to maintain control. In this game the athletes carry a rifle and shoot the target from the distance of 50m. OLIMPIJSKE IGRE SKOZI OKO TELEVIZIJSKE KAMERE: Atene 2004 in Torino 2006 na TV SLO Šport je v 20. stoletju postal ena izmed najbolj priljubljenih televizijskih vsebin. Postal je industrija, k temu pa so pripomogli tudi množični mediji. V diplomskem delu me zanima povezava med mediji in športom, natančneje odnos med poletnimi in zimskimi olimpijskimi igrami (Atene 2004 in Torino 2006) ter Televizijo Slovenija. S pomočjo intervjujev, analiz o gledanosti športnih dogodkov v Sloveniji, raziskav o vplivu športa na slovensko nacionalno identiteto sem preverjala tri teze. Zelo pomembno vlogo v zgodovini slovenskega naroda sta imela alpsko in nordijsko smučanje, ki pred televizijske zaslone poleg nogometa privabljata daleč največ gledalcev v Sloveniji. Iz teh dejstev sem izhajala pri prvi tezi – zimske olimpijske igre (Torino) v Sloveniji dosegajo višjo gledanost kot poletne igre (Atene) – in jo tudi potrdila. Olimpijske igre veljajo za najzahtevnejši projekt celotne RTV Slovenija, s primerjavo med poročanjem o poletnih igrah v Atenah 2004 in zimskih v Torinu 2006 pa sem ugotovila, da so za Televizijo Slovenija poletne olimpijske igre pomembnejši in zahtevnejši projekt.
