South Kensington - Christie’s next Vintage Film Poster sale is the largest yet, featuring some 700 lots and taking up a whole day. Vintage film posters are becoming a more and more popular way to decorate the home, as well as being an affordable momento of a favourite film or star. The sale goes on view the weekend before, giving potential buyers prime time to see what is on offer and chat to specialists if they are new to buying at auction.

As well as the usual classic movies of the –50s, cult movies from the 70s and 80s, Musicals, Film-Noir and Westerns this sale offers a superb James Bond section, an extensive selection of posters and a great selection of the much loved Carry On Films. Estimates range from £200 to several thousand and other stars lining up include , Ingrid Bergman, Marlene Dietrich, , Sean Connery, , Marlon Brando, Steve McQueen, and Laurel & Hardy.

Christie's vintage poster sales continue to be very popular among collectors and those seeking an enduring image from their favourite film. Collectible categories include science fiction, horror, , , James Bond, musicals and westerns. Highlights have included a U.S. one-sheet poster for The Mummy, 1932, which sold for £80,750 in 2001 and a spectacular U.S. six-sheet for The Outlaw depicting a seductive Jane Russell that sold for £52,875 (2003).
