PENTECOST SUNDAY MAY 23, 2021 PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL CANDIDATES Voting Will Take Place May 29/30

I have been a parishioner at St. Francis for over 10 years. I joined St. Francis when my previous parish closed, however, I feel that St. Francis has been home to me my entire life as many of my extended family members are parishioners here. Vince Lofreso My wife Mary and I were married here in 2016 and now have three children. The vibrance of this parish has been an incredible blessing in my life and I hope to contribute to the continued growth and success of the parish as a member of parish council.

I am a cradle Catholic and through the grace of God and the example of my parents, spouse, family members, and parish/faith communities, I continue to grow in my personal faith and love of our Catholic church. My wife, Lori and our three daughters moved to the Portage Lakes area and joined St. Francis de Sales parish 6 years ago. Leaving our previous parish community after almost 20 years to establish roots with a new parish community was an uncertain time. Having served in various ministries and volunteer experiences Tod Wammes over those years, our previous parish and community was a part of our family. We quickly experienced the welcoming and faith-filled community of St. Francis de Sales and recognized this is where we were called to be. We have enjoyed the Bible Studies, Adoration services, and Parish Picnics, along with other parish activities. I am humbled by this nomination to serve the parish community through the Pastoral Council and look forward to responding to my Baptismal call and giving back for all that we have received in our short time at St. Francis de Sales.

I became a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish in 2011 and graduated from the parish school in 2016. I am a 2020 graduate of Green High School and am currently studying business administration at The University of Akron. I am a member of Francesca Ciccarelli Delta Gamma and RooCatholics. As my faith continues to grow, I look forward to giving back to my parish community that has given me strength and encouragement for many years. I plan to devote my time by participating more in our parish community for many years to come. NO UNDERLINES ON WEBSITES/EMAILS PROOF GRAPHICS CAREFULLY

St. Francis de Sales is my second home! I would be honored to serve you on Parish Council. My husband of 24 years, George, and our son, Max, and I are so blessed to be part of this Parish family. Our marriage was convalidated here at St. Francis in 2018 and Max came into the Church Easter 2019. I have grown in my faith from participating in many of the opportunities provided here at St. Francis: the women’s book study, time in Adoration, Bible studies, retreats and missions. I volunteer at St. Francis and have worked on the Evangelization Committee and Workshop, Ruthie DeGrandis Kelbly and taught Vacation Bible School the last 2 summers. I currently work at the school sanitizing and I love being able to pop over to the church at the end of the day. Professionally, I spent most of my time in finance in both California and here, and event planning at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. I was a member of the school board, chaired the annual dinner auction, and managed the school lunch program at Peter & Paul in Doylestown from 2012-14. I am a 2016 graduate of Walsh University with a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication. I owe all of these blessings to our loving God. Thank you, Jesus!

I am Jerry and Stephanie VanDevere's oldest son... I am an official member of the "bunch"! I have been a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales most of my life, but over the past few years have gotten a lot more active as I started to get connected with other young men at the parish through the Exodus90 program. Unlike many of my other family members, I have decided not Jason VanDevere to go into the family car business. A few years ago I started a business designing and selling planners that help people accomplish their goals, called Goal Crazy. Aside from that, I have a few rental properties in the area, so I am a landlord on the side. But what I am most excited about is that I am getting married this summer! I cannot wait to see what God has planned for us in this next phase of life.

My name is Anna Clark, I am nineteen years old, and I have been a parishioner here at St. Francis for all of those years. I am the fourth of nine children and a graduate of Manchester High School. I am currently attending Kent State Stark and studying Child Psychology. I have been active in the youth group, choir, Anna Clark Bible School, altar serving, and am currently employed on the maintenance crew here at St. Francis de Sales Parish and School. By serving on the parish council, I would provide the young adult perspective on parish life. I would be honored to serve, should I be elected.

Hi I am Grace, I am a fifth grader at St. Francis de Sales Parish School. I am going to a summer camp this summer called Damascus. It is a Catholic youth summer camp for boys and girls going into 6th grade through high school. The camp has rock climbing, paintball, archery tag, zip lines and more! This camp also helps you deepen your faith and build friendships with other kids your age from all around the country. Check out their website below for more information. https://damascus.net/programs/catholic-youth-summer-camp/ P.S. I am signed up for session middle school 9A August 1st - 6th! PENTECOST SUNDAY MAY 23, 2021

There are no words… What can I say that could ever be adequate to press my gratitude, joy, love, and awe from all of the graces of last weekend? To paraphrase Victor Hugo, there are certain graces, particular moments "which cannot be put into words.... but before which one cannot remain silent." My 3 classmates and I were Ordained to the Priesthood on Saturday, May 15, and I was able to Celebrate my Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Francis the last Sunday. I will be praying with the joy and blessing of the weekend for the rest of my life. And I cannot thank you enough, the parish family of St. Francis, for everything. It was such a gift to be able to pray with you. This parish inspired, formed, supported, and encouraged me for almost a decade of formation. I will never be able to adequately express my heartfelt gratitude for you all or begin to repay you for your love for me and the vocation of priesthood. There are too many names for me to mention; and I am also sure that there are so many holy, hidden parishioners who have been praying for me and helped make the weekend so perfect, of whom I am unaware! It is such a grace for me to be able to pray for you and offer the Sacraments on your behalf. Know of my prayers, love, and eternal gratitude. Fr. Alex Clark
