After having completed their preliminary for- mation to become oblates within the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, both men received the cas- sock from the hands of His Eminence, Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke on the evening of January 20th, 2021. During the beautiful ceremony directed by MC, Abbé Alex Barga, His Eminence preached an edify- ing sermon concerning the importance and significance of the clerical cassock. Then both men vested in their cassocks during the litany to St. Joseph. Once clad in their new attire, both Abbés proffered commitments as oblates to the Institute in the presence of Canon Matthew Talarico and took up their places in choir stalls to give thanks to God by way of a Solemn Exposition and Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament. Family members for both men from varied parts of the country were present for the event. The superiors of the Insti- tute as well as the clergy of the Oratory give thanks to Our Lord for the graces received on this joyous occa- sion and invite you all to continue praying for the Abbés as they progress further in their formation.
