With dedication and love for Holy Mother Church, Canon Wiener has faith- fully served our community, both spiritually and materially, with his leadership and by the continued restoration efforts of the Ora- tory campus. Unless you look at all that has been accomplished, it is difficult to comprehend that eleven years has passed by since his arrival, but now, we must also say good-bye to Canon Wiener. In October, Canon will become the Chaplain at St. Mar- garet Mary’s in Oakland, California. This will be Canon Wie- ner‘s new and old (where he served from 2005-2008). We are most grateful for Canon Wiener’s wisdom and guidance in assisting so many over the years. Deo gratias!

As the third Rector, we welcome Canon Benjamin Coggeshall to St. Louis - a place where he first began his discernment period as a candidate in 2006 and where he was also ordained to the sacred priesthood in 2014. Canon Coggeshall comes to us after having spent the last 3 years in Rockford, Illinois.

You are cordially invited to attend the Farewell Mass and Reception for Canon Wiener and the Welcome Celebration for Canon Coggeshall on Sunday, Septem- ber 29th. Canon Matthew Talarico, of the United States, will be the celebrant of the Solemn High Mass at 10:00am and will be the homilist at both Sunday Masses. Canon Aaron Huberfeld from Wausau, Wisconsin, will be in attendance as well.

We will be having a family friendly potluck luncheon immediately after the 10:00am Solemn Mass in the church hall so please bring your favorite dish to share with others. You may sign up online at: https://tinyurl.com/farewellcanon or contact the rectory office for more information.

Please come to thank Canon Wiener for all that he has done for us and to give a warm St. Louis welcome to Canon Coggeshall. We can reminisce about all of the blessings we have received since the Institute’s first arrived in 2005 and look to the future with hope of the possibilities to come.

Please remember to pray for all of the canons and seminarians of the Institute as they begin their new year.
