NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS From the Rector’s Desk

Dear Faithful and Friends,

The Community at St. Francis de Sales is pleased to welcome you all back to regular worship at the Oratory. Our desire is that all who wish may come to Holy Mass at their convenience. This being said, please continue to keep yourselves informed of the best measures to protect yourselves and others. Those who are sick should stay home as an act of charity towards other Oratory members. Similarly, those with delicate health situations as well as those who are very sensitive as concerns their own health and well-being may find it best to contin- ue refraining from public worship at this time. As His Grace, Carlson has said, the obligation to go to Sunday Mass is still suspended, so you would not be sinning in choosing to stay home for the time be- ing.

We implore your patience with the distancing measures now in place in the Oratory. We are blessed to have a very large church, so this is much easier here than in other locations to respect the recommended distanc- es. Furthermore, the church is aired out on a regular basis impeding the buildup of stale air. Family members may sit together, of course, but individual families should distance themselves from one another.

Hand sanitizer is available in all of the vestibules should you be so inclined. Similarly, the canons will spray disinfectant in the confessionals on a regular basis.

Any further questions may be directed to the Rector.

Sincerely,

Canon Coggeshall

Thank you very much.
