Th ere are two trails leading from the parking lot to the falls, and even though the steeper of the two was recommended to me, I decided to walk both in order to make my own comparison. I walked the easier (paved) path fi rst, and it took me upward toward a lookout point that is essentially at eye level with the middle of the falls. Along the way were markers highlighting some of the indigenous fl ora and fauna in the area, making it a fun and educational walk for children and families. Returning to the parking lot, I started down the dirt path that led to the base of the falls. Th is clearly is where the real fun happens. People of all ages were dipping their feet in the babbling creek at the base, climbing on the rocks, taking pictures and doing a whole lot of laughing. I made my way along the rocks closer to the actual falls, but stopped short of actually wading through the more challenging parts. Still, hearing the rush of water, staring up at the white foaming falls and seeing the joy of the families gathered around, it was hard not to let go and crack a big smile. Feeling thoroughly relaxed, I began my stroll back to the truck when I spied an al- most hidden trail leading up the side of the hill next to the sidewalk. Having nowhere to be just then, I took a few steps to see where it went, and then a few more.
