Swabian food
Maultaschensuppe Maultaschen is a specialty of swabian cuisine. These are bags from pasta dough with a filling consisting from fatless pig neat, spinach, onion and steeped buns.
Linsen mit Spätzle Linsen (lens) mit Spätzle (“farinaceous” dish), mostly with a sausage, is a specialty of swabian traditional cuisine. Linsen mit Spätzle is recognized as a “swabian national dish” in many places.
Zwiebelrostbraten Zwiebelrostbraten is one of the national swabian cuisines. It is to enjoy with Spätzle ("farinaceous dish"), onions, a lot of sauce and salad. Zwiebelrostbraten is recognized as Sunday dish in the swabian region.
Schupfnudeln Schupfnudeln is a kind of pasta, which has different names, receptions and varieties of rye flour wheat flour and egg, depending on different regions. It will be served with sour crout, but there are a lot of other varieties.
Schwäbischer Sauerbraten Marinated meat with toasted fresh onion rounds, parsley and chopped carrot.
Bauernbratwürste mit Kraut Bauernbratwürste are sausages mostly made from the pig meat, which is filled in animal casing. It is toasted or grilled in a pan or on a grill. There are also smoked sausages which are eaten cold. Sausages are served with crout.
Wurstsalat Wurstsalat is a salad consisting from a sausage, vinegar, oil and onions. It is a traditional dish for lunch in the south of Germany.
Schwäbischer Kartoffelsalat (swabian potatoes salad) Salad potatoes should be boiled, skinned and cut in small slides for the Schwäbischer Kartoffelsalat (swabian potatoes salad). Onions should be cut in small slides too and added to the salad.
