Innovations: Introduced a system of overhead cost management; Incorporated a concept of activity-based costing, a new accounting method in managing overhead costs, with real world examples where an activity-based costing was employed on construction projects; Developed five case studies from industries so that students develop problem-solving skills as well as realize real-life issues; Used a format of in-class exercise and five-minute papers to encourage students to participate in the class; In-class exercise also used to improve students’ hands-on experience.

CM421 Project Management I Taught: Winter 2009, 2010, and 2011 Description: Lecture course addressing a holistic approach to the topic of project management – this course seeks to bring together the concepts of planning and control throughout the life cycle of a project. Innovations: Introduced a concept of a production system and supply chain management. Students are given opportunity to develop crew-level planning using in-class exercises; Developed several case studies for this project management class from my faculty internship experience with Sellen construction, Inc.
