(2003): Check- and Red List of bryophytes of the Czech Republic (2003). – Preslia, Praha, 75: 193–222. The second version of the checklist and Red List of bryophytes of the Czech Republic is provided. Generally accepted infraspecific taxa have been incorporated into the checklist for the first time. With respect to the Red List, IUCN criteria version 3.1 has been adopted for evaluation of taxa, and the criteria used for listing in the respective categories are listed under each red-listed taxon. Taxa without recent localities and those where extinction has not been proven are listed as a subset of DD taxa. Little known and rare non-threatened taxa with incomplete knowledge of distribution which are worthy of further investigation are listed on the so-called attention list. In total, 849 species plus 5 subspecies and 19 varieties have been accepted. 23 other historically reported species and one va- riety were evaluated as doubtful with respect to unproven but possible occurrence in the territory, and 6 other species with proven occurrence require taxonomic clarification. -

Vagrant Epiphytic Mosses in England and Wales
Article o the non-bryologist, bryophytes seem remarkably static compared Vagrant with birds, butterflies or moths. Bryologists know that distributions of species change, and that losses of epiphytic Tspecies to habitat destruction or pollution are countered by increasing taxa and spreaders (e.g. Jones, 1991), although it is often possible to mosses in revisit a historic locality for a moss or liverwort and find it in just the same place where our forefathers noted it decades before. Acidophiles England were increasing when E.W. Morphogenesis of the Ourense Plains : (NW of Spain) = Morfogénesis De
Cadernos Lab. Xeolóxico de Laxe ISSN: 0213-4497 Coruña. 2003. Vol. 28, pp. 263-283 Morphogenesis of the Ourense Plains (NW of Spain) Morfogénesis de las superficies de Orense (NW de España) YEPES TEMIÑO J.1 &. VIDAL ROMANÍ J. R.1 ABSTRACT We present a geomorphological analysis of Ourense Province (NW Spain) characterized by: a general narrowing of the fluvial network, highlands with smooth reliefs partially eroded and lowlands with residual reliefs, several extensive plains of erosion frequently limited by fractures -among which Tertiary grabens are inserted-, some “Hollow Surface”-type morphology, absence of sedimentary deposits outside the grabens, and a generalized outcrop of the Hercynian Massif substratum. Traditionally, this “piano’s key- board morphology” has been interpreted as expression of block tectonics in tensile regi- men; instead we suggest the existence of: an isostatic upheaval simultaneous to a sequen- ce of tectonic pulses of compressive regimen with activity in favour of transcurrent faults, a General Surface (R600), several plains that present a “Hollow Surface”-type mor- phology (R1600 R1400 R1000), a generalized alteration that correspond to a same process of decomposition associated to fluctuating conditions of redox equilibrium, a erosional terraces related principaly to the palaeo-fluvial nets; moreover, we propose the existen- ce of two morphoestructural lineament: the first one represented by the Fault of Vila Real (NE-SW) -a ramification of the “Basal Pyrenean Overthrust”-, that would have been active at an early moment of the tectonic sequence with a left transcurrent fault, secondly the lineament represented by the Fault of Maceda (NNW-SSE) that would be related to the “Fault System NW-SE” and would have produced a right transcurrent fault during a late tectonic pulse. -

Hiking and Mountain Biking Route Guide
HIKING AND MOUNTAIN BIKING ROUTE GUIDE 2019 HIKING AND MOUNTAIN BIKING ROUTE GUIDE For several months we travelled the paths and trails of Ribeira Sacra searching for the most interesting and attractive routes to include in this guide. You can find further information on all the routes plus GPS data and photos on the Ribeira Sacra Tourism Consortium website and its Wikiloc page. Most of the routes in this guide are approved by the Galicia Mountain Federation. On the routes that have not been approved there may be few or no signs, so we recommend using a good map and/or GPS. All the town councils listed have undertaken to maintain these routes in good condition, so that they can be used at any time of year. The Tourism Consortium is not responsible for their maintenance. Ribeira Sacra Wikiloc page Hiking and mountain biking are sports that involve certain risks and for which proper preparation and equipment are needed. WARNING: Care is required on some routes during hunting season (October-January). Phone the local council to find out about areas possibly affected.
