Celebrate Portuguese culture at Bristol Community College’s annual Portuguese Language Day on Thursday, May 2, 2019
Bristol Community College is pleased to invite you to the college’s annual celebration of Portuguese Language Day on Thursday, May 2, beginning at 9 a.m., in the Jackson Arts Center (H Building), on the Bristol Fall River Campus, 777 Elsbree Street. This engaging event is FREE and open to the public.
This year’s exciting program includes dance, music, literature and film, featuring the vibrant rhythms, colors and flavors of Brazil. The event will include a performance by the Quarteto Band, showcasing a sampling of the varied music of Brazil; a performance of capoeira, a mix of martial arts and dance originated among Brazilian slaves and a dance performance exhibiting the many rhythms of Brazil including samba, frevo, forró and funk.
At noon, following the performances, Brazilian traditional treats, including guarana, a traditional Brazilian soda, will be served.
