In this review, pressure-driven polymeric membrane separation techniques including microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF) and hyperfiltration (HF), or reverse osmosis (RO) can be used to explore and implement marine-based resources, such as freshwater from seawater or brackish, surimi by-product, fish gelatin, fish sauce (moromi), and algae.
