I n December 2016, a spirited and hardworking month, where each member of my family worked in a way or another to have a very beau- tiful Christmas, this month is so special for each member of my family, that we had 3 reasons to feel happy… The first was, as I told before, the Christmas… where the family gathered and enjoyed a dinner, cooked by my mother, in certain cases we could make gifts, but if not, we enjoy the union moment and happiness. W e decided to leave away the sadness about the wake and funeral (just finished) and went to Illoca to take a rest. The day was gray, in every sense. We entered the restaurant and chose a sea view window. It was above the waves, in the last line where they finish the way, crashing against the rocks, turning into foam. I saw it clearly. I was not comfortable; I have, even now in my mind that view, after all this years. I was nervous and an- guished and, unconsciously followed that way. That beautiful path that becomes stronger in the sea, and vanishes against the first obstacle, is the perfect reflex of that fleeting love.

On the back, “Loco” (You lifeway) from the “Autenticos Decadentes” was playing (It drove me mad your way of being, your selfishness, your loneliness) and I broke down, I thought I would not be able to fix the sorrow after that lost, and my illusions and strength were broken. Tears sprouted from my eyes, I stood up and left it. But this story is not sad. Every time I go back I tell him sorry, to his body first, and then in silence, looking at the sky in front of the sea, listening how the waves vanish, feeling the wind passing through. Understanding that is a natural cycle.

There is not such a beautiful view that the one from the terrace, maybe for this story, this relief and peace I cannot have in another place. I love the way to Illoca and I look at the beach in winter, the peace that a small wood gives, just in the river’s mouth in the sea and the nostalgic that the front of the hotel inspires, because we are nothing without what happened yesterday.
