ABOUT THIS MANUAL This manual was written to help you get the most performance, comfort, enjoyment and safety when your child is riding his or her new tricycle. It is important for you to understand your child’s new tricycle, how your child should use it and what you need to do to keep your child safe. This manual contains many “Warnings” and “Cautions” concerning the consequences of failing to maintain or inspect your tricycle. Because any incident can result in serious injury or even death, we do not repeat the warning of possible serious injury or death each time such a warning is mentioned. A SPECIAL NOTE FOR PARENTS Your child’s new tricycle is distributed by Dynacraft BSC, Inc. and is intended for riding on flat surfaces and easy slopes. Uses such as aggressive off-road riding, downhill riding, jumping, tricks, stunting and other extreme uses are not recommended and if you allow your child to do such things with this tricycle you must assume sole responsibility for any harm to your child that may result. It is a tragic fact that accidents involve children. As a parent or guardian, you bear the responsibility for the activities and safety of your minor child. Among these responsibilities are to make sure that your child’s new tricycle which your child is riding is properly fitted to the child; that it is in good repair and safe operating condition; that you and your child have gone over the use, operation and safety section of this manual; that you and your child have learned, and understand what to do and what not to do with your child’s new tricycle, and the

1 common sense rules of gravity, safe speed and courteous riding.

GENERAL WARNING: Cycling can be a hazardous activity even under the best of circumstances. Proper maintenance of your child’s new tricycle is your responsibility as it helps reduce the risk of injury. This manual contains many “WARNINGS” concerning the consequences of failure to maintain or inspect your child’s new tricycle. Many of the warnings could say, “your child may lose control and fall.” Because any fall can result in serious injury or even death, we do not repeat the warning of possible injury or death whenever the risk of falling leads to a “WARNING”.

NOTE: The illustrations in this manual are used simply to provide examples; the components of your child’s new tricycle might differ. In addition, some of the parts shown might be optional and not part of your child’s new tricycle’s standard equipment. The following manual is only a guide to assist you.

WARNING: TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY 1. Always wear a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and other protective equipment. 2. Continuous adult supervision required. 3. Never use near motor vehicles. 4. Never use near streets, pools, hills, steps, or sloped driveways. 5. Always wear shoes when using the tricycle. 6. Allow only one rider to use tricycle at a time. 7. Do not ride on rough surfaces. 8. Do not ride at night. 9. Do not ride in wet conditions. It is recommended that the rider should always wear a properly fitted helmet that complies with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC) Standard 16 CFR 1203 .

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR ASSEMBLY ONLY • Phillips screwdriver • Adjustable wrench • Hammer

Dynacraft recommends assembly by an adult with experience in cycle mechanics.

2 PROPER FIT AND SIZE ADJUSTMENTS

When properly adjusted, the rider should be able to pedal comfortably and steer with both feet remaining on the pedals at all times. If the rider has to stretch to reach the pedals or is too cramped, the seat should be adjusted for or aft accordingly.

WARNING: The age recommendation is only an estimate. If you are too small or too large to comfortably reach the pedals or handlebars, do not ride the tricycle. As a parent, you are the best judge of whether your child can safely operate the tricycle; this includes determining whether your child is at the appropriate developmental stage for safe use of the tricycle. Any rider that is unable to fit comfortably on the tricycle should never attempt to ride it. A parent’s decision to allow their child to use the tricycle should be based on the child’s maturity, skill and their ability to follow rules. Keep the tricycle away from small children and remember that it is intended for use only by those who are, at a minimum, able to comfortably and safely operate the tricycle. Children operating the tricycle should be supervised by an adult at all times. Parents should ensure that children only use the tricycle safely and within their age and physical limits.

WARNING: Failing to properly adjust and tighten the screw, bolts and clamps that affix the handlebars, seat and rear can cause you to lose control and fall. When properly tightened, you cannot twist the front out of line with the handlebars or move the saddle out of adjustment. If you can twist or force these components to or come off by hand, re-adjust and properly retighten the screws and bolts. SAFETY

HELMETS. Although not every state or municipality requires juvenile-age cyclists to wear a helmet, Dynacraft strongly recommends you wear a properly approved helmet, such as ANSI or SNELL, even if the law does not mandate the use of a helmet. Keep feet on the pedals at all times while riding in the seated position. Do not ride more than one person at a time. Never use near steps or swimming pools.

WARNING: Helmets must be properly fitted and the straps

3 adjusted properly to be effective. Ask your dealer to help you with the selection, fit and adjustment of your helmet.

NIGHT RIDING AND LOW-LIGHT CONDITIONS. Do not ride at night. Dynacraft strongly recommends against riding at night or when lighting or visibility conditions are less than optimal (such as dawn and dusk).

WARNING: Lighting for night riding or low light conditions are not required and are not standard equipment on the tricycle. We do not recommend riding at night or in low light conditions.

WARNING: Do not ride in wet conditions. Wet weather impairs traction, braking, control and visibility. The risk of accident is increased dramatically in wet weather.

WARNING: Keep your fingers and other parts away from the crank, steering system, wheels and all other moving components. SAFETY TIPS

WARNING TO PARENTS: Kids need to be taught safe riding and the importance of obeying all rules of the road. Traffic, motor vehicles and road hazards can be very dangerous. Parents and children are urged to read and understand these safety tips together. RULES OF THE ROAD: • Adult supervision is required. • Never use near steps, sloped driveways, hills roadways, alleys, and swimming pool areas. • Do not ride between parked cars. • Do not ride in the road or street. • Do not ride at night. • Stop for all stop signs. • Use crosswalks to cross streets. • Always walk at crosswalks. • Always wear a helmet. • Always wear shoes, and never allow more than one rider. • Always sit on the seat, do not stand on the seat. • Stop at all stop signs and lights. • Never ride with headphones or use a cell phone when riding. • Never carry a passenger. • Never hitch a ride with another vehicle. • Do not weave into traffic or make sudden turns.

4 • Observe and yield the right-of-way as prescribed by local traffic rules.

Become aware of and learn your local laws and regulations. Most states and communities have rules regarding helmet use, bicycle licensing, riding on sidewalks, grinding and so on. It is the responsibility of parents to make sure their children know and obey all rules and regulations.

The tricycle is intended for sidewalk and playground use only. You must share this space with others including pedestrians, skaters and other players. Respect their rights!

Ride defensively. Assume that pedestrians, skaters and other players are so absorbed in their own world that they are not paying any attention to you and that they will run you down or step out in front of you, all without any warning.

Watch for obstacles such as pot holes, sewer grates, expansion cracks and road or construction debris (such as nails or other foreign objects) that could catch your wheel or force you to swerve or lose control.

YOUR DRIVEWAY. Driveway accidents are frequent and often fatal. Realize the danger of your own and all other driveways. There may be obscured vision caused by trees, bushes or cars. Your driveway is not a launching pad for fast roll-outs! Observe the following driveway safety tips:

Look left, right and left again before exiting onto sidewalks or into playground areas.

STOP SIGNS. a stop sign is a sure way to get hit by a car and killed. Remember, always stop at every stop sign or stop light. Always stop and walk across only when it is clear. Do not assume that drivers of motor vehicles can see you. In fact, assume that every driver cannot see you and that they are not paying attention. Observe the following safety tips:

Stop at all stop signs and lights, regardless of traffic conditions. Look in every direction of traffic before proceeding to walk across. Watch especially for oncoming traffic making left turns:

Do not cut across the street, cross only at intersections. Practice looking over your shoulder to the rear without accidentally turning (do this only in an open space free from traffic and obstructions).

5 DO NOT RIDE AT NIGHT OR IN LOW VISIBILITY. SEE SAFETY SECTION FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Riding the tricycle may be hazardous activity and has inherent dangers that no amount of care, caution, instruction or expertise can eliminate. Certain conditions may cause the equipment to fail without fault of the manufacturer. Activities involving the use of this item carry the risk of injury or death.

SAFETY CHECK (BEFORE EACH RIDE)

LOOSE PARTS. Check all bolts to ensure they are tight, taking care not to over tighten the bolts.

FRAME, FORK, AND HANDLEBAR. Check for cracks or broken connections. Although broken frames are rare, it is possible for an aggressive rider to bash into a or wall and wreck and bend or break a frame, fork or handlebar. Get in the habit or inspecting yours regularly. MAINTENANCE. Wheels have sealed bearing hubs. The axles can be lubricated with Triflow® or another oil based lubricant. ASSEMBLY

WARNING: Adult Assembly Required. Dynacraft highly recommends that you have your tricycle assembled by an experienced, adult mechanic.

ASSEMBLY NOTE: Refer to the list of tools required for assembly on page two of this manual. If you do not have the proper tools or understanding of instructions in this manual, take your tricycle to a qualified mechanic for assembly, service or adjustments.

UNPACKING. Remove contents from box. Remove the cardboard and/or plastic separators that protect the various component from damage during shipping. Inspect the contents of the box for scratches in the paint, dents or kinked cables that may have occurred during shipping. Your tricycle was partially assembled and packed at the factory to prevent shipping damage and there should not be any problems, even if the box has a few scars or dents. But if there is damage to the box, contact customer service at 1-800-551-0032.

6 STEP 1: Before assembling the tricycle, make sure you have all the parts in the diagram below. You will need a Phillips head screw driver, a hammer and an adjustable wrench.

7 STEP 2: Attach one snap cap on either end of the rear axle by carefully pounding it with a hammer. Slide one plastic hub washer and then one steel washer onto the axle towards the snap cap. Next slide on one rear wheel followed by one plastic spacer. Slide the axle assembly through the rear deck of the tricycle. Next install one plastic spacer, the other wheel, the other steel washer, and the plastic hub washer onto the axle. With the previously installed snap cap on level ground use a hammer and carefully pound the second snap cap onto the other end of the rear axle.

STEP 3: Insert the rear axle into the slots provided on the frame. Make sure that the seat mounts on the frame are oriented facing upwards. Insert the 2 carriage bolts into the 2 holes provided. Attach nuts and washers and tighten down securely with a wrench.

STEP 4: Insert the fork into the bottom of the frame. Slide a plastic washer followed by a locking ring over the top of the fork. Insert the handlebar into the fork. Ensure that the minimum insertion line is below the locking ring. Make sure the fork is flush with the bottom of the frame and tighten the locking ring with a wrench.

WARNING: Failure to properly install the handlebar to the fork can result in the handlebars falling off and causing risk of injury. Periodically check to ensure that the handlebar is securely attached.

8 STEP 5: Place the seat on the frame in the position you desire. There are multiple positions for the seat depending on the leg length of the rider. Once the seat is lined up with the frame holes insert the 2 bolts provided. Attach the nuts and tighten down securely with a Phillips screw driver and a wrench.

STEP 6: Align the winch assembly with the 4 holes in the frame, then insert 4 screws to tighten the winch on the frame.

How to use the winch: Pull up the knob to adjust the length of the rope and press down the knob to lock the rope.
