-5- RULES Because of the Brucellosis Scheme the Cattle Section is open to animals from Accredited Herds only. 1. No prize shall be given when the Judges consider there is insufficient merit, or when an exhibitor has been guilty of fraudulent practice. 2. The Committee will not be responsible for any accidents to persons or property on the premises in which the Show is held and in which the cars are parked. 3. All animals are to be on the Field by 9.00am Judging will start promptly. 4. The Judge’s decision will be final in all matters of dispute. 5. All cheques and postal orders shall be payable to “Nevern Agricultural & Horticultural Society”. 6. Entries to be in the hands of the Secretary by 27th July, 2016. Entries for Horticultural Section may be made on morning of Show. 7. No prize-winning animals will be allowed to leave the field before the parade without a written permit from the Secretary. 8. A parade of all prize-winners will take place after the judging and anyone refusing to take his animals will forfeit all prize money won at the Show. 9. The Committee will not be responsible for any error which may appear in the Schedule or Catalogue, or for any entry made in the wrong Class, and reserves the right to amend same in any way whatever. 10. All animals must be treated as being in the sole charge of the exhibitor or his servant during the whole of the Show, and the Committee shall not be responsible for any loss or damage. Unruly animals will be turned out of the field. All bulls must have two attendants whilst in the Show ring. 11. Only the signed award of the Judges will be accepted by the Secretaries as evidence that a prize has been awarded. 12. On arrival at the Show, all exhibits in the Cattle and Sheep Classes are to be tied or penned, as the case may be, in the appropriate section of the ground set aside for the particular breed or class and are not to remain inside the transport vehicles. 13. All objections must be made in writing and handed to the Secretary on the day of the Show, and any persons lodging an objection must deposit £1 with the Secretary, which sum will be forfeited if the objection or dispute is found to be frivolous, and all objections and questions of dispute shall be referred to the Committee whose decision shall be final, and from which there shall be no appeal, legal or otherwise. 14. A Patron of the Society shall be a subscriber of not less than £20.00 annually. (The privileges to which a Patron is entitled include 50% reduction on entry fees, free car park and admittance for two persons.) 15. Any Horse or Pony exhibited in Classes carrying a height restriction is liable to be measured on the authority of the Committee whether or not a certificate is produced. 16. For Local and Championship Classes no rosette shall be worn. 17. The Committee reserves the right to change or amend the order of judging without prior warning if such occasion arises. 18. Cup winners shall be liable for damage to cups in their possession or their loss. To be returned by 30th June in year following Show. 19. It is the responsibility of all owners/exhibitors to ensure that their animals have adequate insurance. 20. Stallions, colts and bulls not to be ridden or led by juniors who have not attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year. -6- INTERIM REGULATIONS FOOT & MOUTH DISEASE BIO-SECURITY AT NEVERN SHOW Due to the current regulations governing cattle and sheep at agricultural shows, the show field has been changed to conform. Please help us and yourselves by following the directions given by signs and stewards. Thank you for your co-operation. NO CONTAMINATED VEHICLES will be allowed on the show fields. HORSE TRANSPORT VEHICLES WILL PARK SEPARATELY. ALL EXHIBITORS MUST SEND THEIR ENTRIES IN WRITING BEFORE 27 JULY, 2016. CATTLE & SHEEP CATTLE AND SHEEP EXHIBITORS WILL BE DIRECTED TO A SEPARATE DESIGNATED AREA. ALL PERSONS HANDLING ANIMALS (owners, exhibitors, judges, stewards, etc.) will have to PROVIDE THEIR OWN protective clothing and footwear. Footwear must have soles for scrubbing and disinfecting. N.B.—All exhibitors who wish to gain entry into the Approved Section must produce a certificate of official Maedi-Visna Accredited status (SH 20) for inspection by Show Stewards at the gate. 4. THE NEVERN MEMORIAL PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP and the Nevern Show Championship Rosette for the Best Coloured Dairy Animal in Show, and Reserve Championship Rosette for the Runner-up. Champion of this class qualifies for the Any Other Dairy Breed Champion of Champions at Llandyfaelog Show. (Ayrshire, Jersey, Guernsey, Brown Swiss and Dairy Shorthorns). ON-FARM DAIRY HERD COMPETITION Judge : T.B.C. No entry fee. CLASS FOR SMALL DAIRY HERD – less than 150 cows. CLASS FOR LARGE DAIRY HERD – 150 cows and over. To be judged in July. The winner to refrain from entry the following year, but will be invited to escort the judge then.

A Perpetual Challenge Cup presented by the LKL Services Ltd., Contract Milking Specialists, to the winner in each class. -9- DAIRY INTERBREED CLASSES RING 1/RING 2 — Approx. start time 11.00am Judge : Mr BEN LLEWELYN, Haverfordwest 17. DAIRY INTERBREED PRODUCTION SECTION. COW WITH THE HIGHEST PROFITABILITY over immediate past two complete lactations. RULES (a) Number of days from start of first qualifying lactation to the end of second qualifying lactation should not exceed 700 days. Penalty for each day over. (b) Points will be awarded as follows : Production : 1 point per £1 earned. Inspection : 1st—1,000 points. Remainder of points at the judges’ discretion. Qualifying shows are : Small Shows – Tivy-side, Cardigan, Llanilar, Nevern, Llandysul, St. Clears, Llandeilo, Gower, Fishguard and Llandyfaeliog. Glyn Jones Junior Heifer Championship – This show qualifies for the Junior Heifer Championship (Maiden Heifer born after 1st March 2015); this competition is sponsored by Glyn Jones, Esq., Penlon, Nebo, Cross Inn, Ceredigion. The final will be judged at Llandysul Show.
