La presente investigación analiza y compara los factores económicos y rasgos narrativos dominantes que explican su posicionamiento en el país Ibérico, durante los años 2005 a 2009. Se advierten tres elementos destacables: primero, una oferta diversificada de títulos de este país, a precios competitivos; segundo, la expansión de nuevos mercados y búsqueda de fórmulas nuevas mediante coproducciones multinacionales, y tercero, una reformulación de la retórica audiovisual adaptada a un mercado internacional más amplio sin perder su esencia tradicional como relato melodramático.
