The first Summer School in Research Methods of the African Doctoral Academy of Stellenbosch University will offer courses of the highest international standard covering such topics as * Comparative research design and configurational comparative methods (Dirk Berg-Schlosser – Philipps University Marburg) * Multiple regression analysis (Bernhard Kittel – Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg) * Mixed-methods design (Max Bergman – University of Basel) * Basic course on quantitative data analysis using SPSS (Nelius Boshoff – Stellenbosch University) # Introduction to research designs in the social sciences (Johann Mouton – Stellenbosch University) # Comparative survey design (Bruno Cautres – CEVIPOF, Paris) # Causal Analysis in Social Research: Cross-case and case study approaches (John Gerring – Boston University) ‡ Impact evaluation design (Johann Louw – University of Cape Town) ‡ Qualitative data analysis with Atlas/ti (Brigitte Smit – University of Johannesburg) ‡ Epistemological paradigms in the social sciences (Johann Mouton – Stellenbosch University)
