Mission accomplished.... 140 quilts pieced, quilted, bound, plus 100 pillowcases were delivered to Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school. Many thanks to over 60 vol- unteers who worked on the quilts, the Home Economics Stu- dents at Calvary High School who made the pillow cases for the quilts and all of the donations from our vendors who made this project possible. A special thanks to Don- na and Brenda for hav- ing the leadership to see this project through and to our long-arm quilters who quilted all of the quilts. A very special shout out to Kathi Cochran for quilting almost 70 quilts! Thank you for Sewing a little Love!

Cynthia’s is Celebrating 17 Years

Cynthia’s opened on September 7, 2001 to meet the needs of the home sewing and custom clothier market in South Florida. In addition to "fine fabrics", patterns and notions, Cynthia sells high quality sewing machines, embroidery software and supplies. Over the past 17 years Cynthia’s has changed to meet the needs of her customers, and now has dedicated 50% of her inventory to quilting.

Cynthia has over 40 years of sewing experience. She currently holds a Masters degree in Home Economics Education and is certified by the Home Sewing Association, Palmer Pletsch and Jenny Haskins to teach many sewing courses. In addition, she has taught at the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Pfaff International Dealer Convention and Johnson and Wales University in Miami since opening the store. She has also been the recipient of the Pfaff Emerald Award from 2003-2007 and a member of the Pfaff President's Club 2012-2015.

Cynthia attends a variety of business and training seminars annually, which include the annual conventions of Pfaff and Baby Lock sewing ma- chines. She also regularly attends the Houston Quilt Market and The International Textile Show. She is constantly sharing her knowledge with her customers through her classes, clubs, SEW FINE newsletter and emails.
