It’s fashion! It’s hot and trendy! It’s embroidery on jeans! Come learn from Chris Tryon to make jeans your own with color choices that match your style. Chris custom digitized specific designs for this class, and you will have access to your own multi-needle machine to complete your wardrobe masterpiece. Bring your own pair of jeans to class ready for em- broidery. For best results, select jeans that contain less than 5% spandex. Contact Kiki’s for guidance on selecting the perfect pair for this project. Kiki’s will also show you how to prepare your jeans for ADVENTURES IN EMBROIDERY class. If you’ve wanted to try this technique but didn’t know where to start, come learn from a master of embroidery. MARCH 21 & 23 | 10am-4pm Educator: Chris Tryon

Embroidery mysteries solved! Join your tour guide Chris Tryon, who does everything a above the ordinary. You will complete two projects for two unforgettable adventures in embroidery. Chris shares several incredible samples of stitching on a variety of fabrics and projects. Come discover exciting ways to combine embroidery with quilting, as well as in- novative ideas for embroidering garments and home décor. First, create an upscale and elegant project bag with a channel or cross hatch fill on velveteen. For project number two, you will embroider on a canvas bag with a dress appliqué of dimensional tulle. Students will stitch on a Baby Lock Valiant Multineedle embroidery machine with two students per Machine.

MARCH 28 & 30 | 10am-4pm Educator: Debbie Martinez

Think you’re not an artist? Unsure of your free motion skills? How about a class that improves those skills and brings out your inner artist? Debbie Martinez, Baby Lock Ambassador of Education, is a master of free motion. Come learn her secrets to creating stitched works of art with thread as paint. You will start with a gorgeous floral print from Kaffe Fassett, and make the flowers come alive by fussy cutting them from fabric and “painting” them with thread. Learn the technique of edge finishing with a satin stitch. Bring your camera to record Debbie’s trunk show. Previous thread painting and free motion experience is not required.

Debbie shares her secrets, so bring a camera to capture her trunk show of garments, quilts and embroidery. Your proj- ect starts with fabric. Then add… scrapbook paper, organza and die cut flowers. Join Karen Charles, Viking Educational Consultant, for two great projects on the Viking Designer Epic. This class gives you the opportunity to get your hands on an impressive machine. You will use the Epic’s deluxe stitch system and JoyOS advisor to create a vinyl cell phone case and a semi-circle accessory bag, both in the hoop. Come to class to explore appliqué design, design shaping, and sequin stitches. Learn the secrets to a shaped in the hoop. Diane Aholt presents a modern heirloom-class pillow loaded with techniques and beautiful embroidery. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to explore the features of Baby Lock’s amazing Destiny machine. Diane will show you how to create dramatic dimensional effects with one of the Destiny’s many built-in shapes and custom line options. Create an in-the-hoop Madeira Appliqué and personalize it with one of the large fonts built into the Destiny.
