Davies is Director and one of the founders of the Brunel University Centre for Intelligence and Security Studies. Prior to joining Brunel University in 2003, he taught at the University of Malaya in the Department of International and Strategic Studies. During his tenure at UM he regularly delivered teaching packages for the Royal Malaysian Police Special Branch, the Institute for Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), contributed to the Ministry of Defence Staff Course and delivered bespoke training for the Information Division of Prime Minister’s Department. In 2007 he returned to Malaysia for a term as Visiting Professor at the University Institute of Technology MARA’s Centre for Information Warfare where he delivered a module on Intelligence and Research for the Malaysian National Security Council Staff.
