Rosary Leaders Needed We are looking for a few parishioners to volunteer to lead the Rosary before the 7:30 Mass every other Thursday and every Friday at 7:15 a.m. If you can help with this please see Father Michael before or after Mass.

First Saturday Masses Our parish will begin holding Mass on the first Saturday of every month starting next Saturday, September 1 at 8:00 a.m. in Mineral Point. This Mass will be celebrated as a commemoration of the Blessed Mary. Prior to Mass, we will recite the Rosary at 7:40 a.m. This Mass will not satisfy the normal weekend Mass obliga- tion, but is a great way to start the month off with Mary in our hearts and minds. We hope you will join us every first Saturday to honor Mother Mary!

She is shown with her daughter, Mary, when she was young.

-We believe St. Philip to be shown in the second window.

-The smaller, middle window portrays Jesus as the Good Shepherd. He watches over us as a shepherd does to his flock. A Bible verse is written in German below it. Psalm 21 talks about the Good Shepherd and how we have nothing to fear when Jesus is watching over us.

-The 4th window is St. Catherine of . She was the princess and was raised as a Pagan, but converted to Christianity. St. Cath- erine was martyred for converting in 305 A.D.

-The last window shows St. John, one of the Gospel writers. He is shown with a and pen and his symbol, an eagle, by his feet. St. John became an apostle and was the only one that was not mar- tyred. He was sent to exile where he wrote the Gospel.

Congratulations to Matthew and Brittany (Pittz) Leja on the baptism of their daughter, Eleanor Mae. Through the living waters of Baptism; original sin is destroyed, Justice is incorporated into Christ, Eleanor becomes a temple of the Holy Spirit, a member of the church, and an heir to the Kingdom of Heaven. God Bless them on this this holy and happy day!

LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK Jesus' teaching is hard and challenging. In fact, many who originally believed in him left and returned to their former way of life. They were not able to accept what he had to say or to make the changes that are necessary to conform their lives to the Gos- pel. We often water down our faith and make it more about securing our place in heaven than leading a life in pursuit of the kingdom of God. Following Jesus and living the Gospel require action now. The Gospel demands that we change the way we conduct the business of our lives. Sadly, many are still afraid of taking risks and cannot accept change. Are we really ready to venture forth into the unknown, or would we prefer to simply return to our old ways of doing things?
