So, why pole-vaulting? Jade started aged just 10. “It was after a sprint session at Harrow Athletics club – I saw the poles lying around and just wanted to give it a go. When you’re little, you don’t really think about it… now I’m older, I realise it’s probably POPPY WALL quite dangerous.”

Jade was selected to represent her country in Hungary at Share a message of peace the European Under-18 Championships in July. this Remembrance - at the Civic Centre “It was fun”, she says, “and a great experience”. Jade and in all Harrow libraries once again hit her personal best, finishing fifth overall.

So, is she dreaming of the Olympic glory one day? “Yes, definitely. Not the next one, but maybe the one after that – Paris 2024.” This rising star’s one to watch!
