• Former Portage Residential School and 45 acres of land became federal surplus once the school closed its doors in 1975. • Acquired for one dollar in 1981 through acknowledgment of an outstanding treaty land entitlement. • Converted to reserve in 6 months. • In 1998 an adjacent 90 acres was acquired by the LPFN Trust and is pending ATR. • Ideally situated along the Trans Canada Highway. 1984 Former residential school (1915) becomes the first home of Yellowquill College. 1992 Land designated for leasing purposes for 50 years. 1999 Yellowquill College moves to Winnipeg.
