El artículo parte de los primeros acercamientos de Jorge Enrique Isaacs Ferrer (1837-1895) a la literatura, en 1860, y hace un recorrido analítico y biográfi co por 35 años de la vida literaria, periodística, política y científi ca del autor de María (1867) y Estudio sobre las tribus indígenas del Magdalena (1884); muestra el permanente acercamiento de Isaacs a la etnología, así como sus éxitos, indecisiones, fracasos y frustraciones en materias económicas y políticas, todo lo cual se concretó en una inestable vida itinerante entre el Cauca, Bogotá, Santiago de Chile, Antioquia e Ibagué, así como en el tránsito entre la literatura y la etnología. -

Master of Arts, History, August, 1972, 147 pp., appendix, bibliography, 160 titles. This thesis deals with the problem of determining the reasons behind the purge conducted by various high officials in the Nazi regime on June 30-July 2, 1934. Adolf Hitler, Hermann Goring, SS leader Heinrich Himmler, and others used the purge to eliminate a sizable and influential segment of the SA leadership, under the pretext that this group was planning a coup against the Hitler regime. Also eliminated during the purge were sundry political opponents and personal rivals. Therefore, to explain Hitler's actions, one must determine whether or not there was a planned putsch against him at that time. Although party and official government documents relating to the purge were ordered destroyed by Hermann GcTring, certain materials in this category were used. Especially helpful were the Nuremberg trial records; Documents on British Foreign Policy, 1919-1939; Documents on German Foreign Policy, 1918-1945; and Foreign Relations of the United States, Diplomatic Papers, 1934. Also, first-hand accounts, contem- porary reports and essays, and analytical reports of a /1J-14 secondary nature were used in researching this topic. Many memoirs, written by people in a position to observe these events, were used as well as the reports of the American, British, and French ambassadors in the German capital. -

En Torno a «María» De Jorge Isaacs1
En torno a «María» de Jorge Isaacs1 Carmen de Mora Jorge Isaacs: La política, las letras y la educación Jorge Isaacs, junto con Rafael Pombo y Tomás Carrasquilla, es el iniciador de una etapa fundacional en la literatura colombiana, entre 1820 y 1900, marcada por la tensión entre la imitación y asimilación de modelos europeos, de un lado, y por el propósito de crear una tradición literaria propia mediante la incorporación de elementos autóctonos, de otro. Eduardo Camacho Guizado ha distinguido en dicha etapa tres períodos. El primero (1820-1840) constituye una época de transición de un neoclasicismo tardío a un romanticismo incipiente. El segundo (1840-1880) es una época revolucionaria de liberalismo, federalismo, desamortización de los bienes eclesiásticos y reacción conservadora, presidida por el caudillaje de Mosquera, en la que e manifiesta la insurgencia de los poetas románticos, la consolidación del costumbrismo en novelas de cierto valor, la aparición de la novela romántica y el «virgilianismo americano». La tercera (1880-1890), dominada prácticamente por la contrarrevolución conservadora, por la acción de Núñez y la Regeneración, produce en literatura diversas y valiosas manifestaciones que van desde el romanticismo tardío hasta la incubación y afirmación del modernismo y la obra narrativa de Carrasquilla. La biografía de Isaacs interesa al lector de María por la existencia de algunos datos reveladores que ilustran la realidad novelesca. Por tratarse de una evocación del mundo de la adolescencia es la primera etapa la que aporta mayor número de materiales a la realidad ficticia, tales como la ascendencia de Isaacs, formación, posesiones y problemas económicos de la familia. -

Programm September – Dezember 2009 Lesungen, Ausstellungen, Gespräche Ausstellung Robert Gernhardt (1937 – 2006), Dichter, Satiriker, Mitbegründer der „Neuen Frankfurter Schule“, begann als Maler und Zeichner und hinterließ neben seinem literarischen auch ein Robert Gernhardt. umfangreiches bildkünstlerisches Werk. Die letzten Bilder Die Ausstellung zeigt in ca. 70 Zeichnungen und Illustrationen einen repräsentativen Ausschnitt aus Robert Gernhardts spätem zeichnerischen Werk: bis 18. Oktober 2009 Das „Septemberbuch“, erstmals erschienen 1997, zeigt „Zwanzig Bilder zu zehn Gedichten“ mit Motiven aus der Toskana, Gernhardts zweiter Heimat. Kongenial sind Gernhardts Zeichnungen zu Barbara Hoffmeisters Buch „Das Randfigurenkabinett des Dr. Thomas Mann“, einer Porträtgalerie von zwölf Sonderlingen und Nebenfiguren. Die Kreidezeichnungen zu Eckhard Henscheids „Trilogie des laufenden Schwachsinns“ tragen Titel wie „Doppelter Obstler“ oder „Weizenbier und doppelter Sechsämter“ und „tendieren in ihrer Sorgfalt und Ernsthaftigkeit zum Tafelbild“, wie die FAZ befindet. Außerdem zeigt die Ausstellung eine Auswahl aus der Serie „99 Sudelblätter von Robert Gernhardt zu 99 Sudelsprüchen von Georg Christoph Lichtenberg“. Robert Gernhardt © BrittaFrenz Dauer der Ausstellung: 7.5. – 18.10.2009 Lesung mit Susanne Schädlich In ihrem jüngst erschienenen Buch „Immer wieder Dezember. Der Westen, die Stasi, der Onkel und ich“ arbeitet Susanne Schädlich, Tochter des Schriftstellers Hans Joachim Schädlich, ihre Immer wieder Dezember Familiengeschichte auf: von der Ausreise in den Westen über die Entdeckung, dass der eigene Onkel für die Stasi die Familie und deren Freunde bespitzelte, bis zum öffentlich inszenierten Mittwoch, 23. September 2009 um 20 Uhr Selbstmord dieses Onkels im Dezember 2007 in Berlin. Entstanden ist eine „Chronik von dokumentarischem Rang und literarischem Gewicht“, so Karl Corino in der Frankfurter Rundschau. Susanne Schädlich, geboren 1965 in Jena, reiste im Dezember 1977 mit ihrer Familie in den Westen aus. -
Leseliste Der Section D'allemand
Leseliste der section d'allemand Diese Leseliste ist eine Menukarte. Sie bietet wichtige Werke der deutschen Literatur- geschichte zum Lesegenuss an, ohne aber vorzuschreiben, in welcher Reihenfolge, mit welcher Intensität und in welcher Menge die vorgeschlagenen Werke gelesen werden sollen. Sie ist also kein abfragbarer Kanon, sondern eine offene Palette. Sie will nicht übersättigen; deshalb ist die Auswahl nicht allzu üppig. Trotzdem ist sie so lang, dass sie nicht von vorn bis hinten durchgekaut und wiedergekaut werden kann - bei diesem Menu kann und soll man mit jenem Gang beginnen, der am meisten anspricht. Weil die Leseliste darauf baut, dass der Appetit mit dem Essen kommt, will sie die Studierenden über Werke orientieren, wie sie insbesondere im Umkreis eines Seminars oder bei einer Vorlesung zusätzlich gelesen werden können, so dass das Netz der Leseerlebnisse im Laufe des Studiums immer dichter wird. PRAKTISCHE HINWEISE ZUR BENUTZUNG Um die Orientierung zu erleichtern, sind die Werke nach Epochen und innerhalb der Epochen nach literarischen Gattungen gegliedert. Mit einem (*) herausgehoben sind Werke, Autorinnen und Autoren, die für ihre Epoche und Gattung besonders repräsentativ scheinen und sich dadurch für die Einreise in das jeweilige literarische Gebiet besonders eignen.
