Dear friends,

This year, Israel celebrated its 65th Independence Day. When such milestones occur, we should reflect on both what this country has accomplished in such a short time, as well as the role it plays in the lives of Jewish communities in the Diaspora. It also gives us the opportunity to review what the Israel Movement for Reform & Progressive Judaism (IMPJ) has been able to achieve.

With each passing year, we find more and more Israelis are interested in Jewish tradition, adapting it to the challenges of their daily lives, and giving expression to its moral and Gilad Kariv, Adv. The IMPJ budget for 2012 was $5,148,000 (US$ = 3.7 NIS) The IMPJ is working to meet the growing demand for Reform and Progressive Jewish activities across the country Expenses by diversifying its income resources through working with governmental and municipal entities. At the same time, the IMPJ continues to identify new Israeli financial supporters, both from within and outside the movement. The IMPJ has also been advancing the development of self-generating income programs and services such as lifecycle events, summer camps and formal and informal educational materials.

In order to create a more solid financial base among Israeli philanthropists, the IMPJ established the Leadership Endowment Fund (LEF). Through this fund, the IMPJ has begun to recruit its Incomes Israeli lay leaders in its communities and throughout the movement, to garner financial support for the IMPJ's work. Since its inception, the LEF has raised NIS 135,000 towards its initial goal of NIS 500,000.
