Chairman's Report

During the last year Barbara and I have attended monthly meetings of the Yeovil Crematorium Project Board. In addition as Chairman I have attended quarterly Woborns Almshouse Trustee meetings.

Yeovil Crematorium Project Board.

The project board has now reached a stage where tender documents for the main project build are in, and receiving due consideration. Initially 12 contractors returned pre• qualification questionaires for construction of the new chapel and refurbishment work. Following assessment and scoring 7 were selected to bid. 2 contractors subsequently withdrew, due to their own forward workloads. The project board is now in a position to consider the bids submitted.

In advance of the building project, contracts to install new cremators and a future maintenance agreement is near finalisation.

The project board is closely monitoring spending on the build program in an endeavour to ensure costs to not exceed the planned budget.

Woborn Almshouse Trustee Meetings

The Trustees meet quarterly to review and approve the accounts for the previous three month period. Additionally the actual spend is reviewed against budget for the current 12 month financial period. The Trustees discuss the up keep of the property and Landlord requirements and obligations to comply with Letting Legislation.

May I place on record my thanks to Barbara our Clerk for her diligent hard work on our behalf. Also my thanks to Iris for her support as vice chair.

Colin Rose Chairman

John Nowes Exhibition Foundation – Iris Coton
