  • Land Auctions
Dear friends, Today the autonomy has good prospects for investments, a priority region for the economic development of our country. It may and must turn from a subsidized region into a profitable one. This is our key target. Our Crimean strategy of social and economic renewal and development is based on it. No doubt that the Crimea will become a pearl of Ukraine, will be able to successfully implement the whole resort and tourist, agricultural, transport, industrial and certainly land potential. This and other similar publications of the Crimean government popularize the issues of improving business climate in the autonomy, activating investment activities in the region and transparent sales of land in the Crimea. For us holding open auctions is not merely the establishment of clear and understandable rules for doing investing business but also direct replenishment of the republican budget. At the same time this transparent method of selling land will put an end to the illegal schemes of enriching and will enable to use the land – a most valuable Crimean resource – for the benefit of the budget and all the Crimean citizens. I am convinced that this catalogue will become a reference book for a domestic and foreign investor and businessman. 88 ЕКОНОМІЧНА ТА СОЦІАЛЬНА ГЕОГРАФІЯ PERCEPTION OF LOCAL GEOGRAPHICAL SPECIFICITY BY THE POPULATION OF PODOLIA Oleksiy GNATIUK Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine [email protected] Abstract: The article reveals the perception of local geographical specificity by the population of Podolia. Attention is focused on five elements of the local geographical specificity: natural, historical and cultural monuments; prominent personalities; trademarks and producers of goods and services; the origin settlement names; figurative poetic names of settlements. The tasks were the following: to determine basic qualitative and quantitative parameters of regional image-geographical systems, to find the main regularities of their spatial organization, and, finally, to classify administrative-territorial units of the region according to the basic properties of image-geographic systems using specially worked out method. Analysis made it clear that the population of Podolia is characterized by a high level of reflection of the local geographic specificity. Local image-geographical systems from different parts of the region have different structure and level of development. In particular, image-geographical systems in Vinnytsia and Ternopil oblasts are well developed, stable and hierarchized, in Khmelnitskyi oblast it is just developing, dynamic and so quite unstable. To further disclosure the regularities and patterns of local geographical specificity perception, it is advisable to carry out case studies of image-geographic systems at the level of individual settlements.

  • Volodymyr Omelchuk, Grace Church, Irpin, Kyiv Region, Ukraine (74)
General report 2019 Volodymyr Omelchuk, Grace Church, Irpin, Kyiv region, Ukraine (74) Greetings! Recently, we have opened a new church in Irpin city. You have supported our ministry for many years! You helped us in the Church of Grace in Kyiv, with the Church of Peace in Kyiv, and now in the Church of Grace in Irpin. An increasing number of people are involved in the lives of these churches, and because of its supporters, the Churches are constantly growing. For all this, thank God and thank you very much! In 2019 I was a pastor in Kyiv in Pechersk district. The church is called "The Church of Peace". It was built 2.5 years ago. The church had 169 members. In 2019, 25 people more were bapzed. We had two wonderful camps this summer: children's and men's ones. Thank you for your financial support. We have organized 12 Bible study home groups in our Church. All went well, thank God. And our church members allowed us to go to a new Church in Irpin. We opened a new Church in Irpin (city in Kyiv region) just a few months ago. Around 100,000 people live in Irpin now. The Church started funconing with a small Bible study home group. Now there are 3 groups. There are non- believers in the groups who are open to the Gospel. Three weeks ago, at the Bible study group, one girl accepted Christ immediately. She sent me a message during the Bible study group: "I want to repent. Is it beer to do it now or after the Bible group?" It was wonderful, praise God! PRAYER REQUESTS: Please, pray for my family in order for everyone's faith to grow; Ask God for the growth of the Church of Grace in Irpin, pray for God to give us open-hearted people; Pray for the opening of a rehabilitation center at our Church.

  • A Rapid WASH and Infrastructure Assessment in Non-Government Controlled Areas of Eastern Ukraine
` A Rapid WASH and Infrastructure Assessment in Non-Government Controlled Areas of Eastern Ukraine August, 2015 1 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS This assessment was commissioned by UNICEF, with data collected remotely by REACH in July 2015 from key informants at water, health, and education facilities as well as from affected communities. Thanks go to all those individuals and organisations who contributed towards this assessment, including the Global WASH Cluster who contributed to the final analysis and drafting. REACH is a joint initiative of IMPACT, its sister organisation ACTED, and the United Nations Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT). REACH facilitates the development of information tools and products that enhance the capacity of aid actors to make evidence-based decisions. For more information, write to [email protected], visit www.reach-intiative.org and follow us @REACH_info. Cover photo: Delivery of drinking water to Debaltseve, Donetsk Oblast, March 2015, ©UNICEF i EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Conflict has been ongoing in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts since May 2014, with spikes of violence in June 2014 and again in January-February and in July 2015. Attempts to negotiate a political solution to the conflict led to the ‘Minsk’ ceasefire signed between the Governments of Ukraine, Russian Federation and the non-state actors in September 2014. However, the truce collapsed within days, similar to a new ceasefire agreement signed in February 2015. Relative calm around the Contact Line (CL) has ensued since September 2015, however, the situation remains fragile given lack of trust between the parties to the conflict. From the end of 2014, Ukrainian legislation has restricted freedom of moment of both people and goods, in addition to the cessation of salary and pension payments in the non-governmental controlled areas (NGCAs), increasing hardship for local populations.
