Museum Of Counterfeit Goods "Fakes Revealed!"

Thailand is notorious for its counterfeit market and the Museum of Counterfeit Goods is a fine showcase of the country's knack of replicating brands. There are about 4,000 exhibits inside. Housed inside the Tilleke and Gibbins' law firm, the museum displays all goods seized by the firm on behalf of its clients as evidence in the court. There are fake clothing items, by PPun electronic goods to household appliances and a whole lot of other products. Some of the pseudo items have the originals displayed alongside them as well, just to educate people on how to discern the fake from the real thing. The museum has received a lot of international media coverage and is frequented by students, lawyers, Interpol officers and businessmen. Make sure you book your your visit in advance as it is by reservation only.

Bangkok "Dolls on Parade"

This factory/museum, founded by Khunying Thongkorn Chanthavimon in 1956, displays a huge collection of dolls. Trained at the Osawa School in Tokyo, Tongkorn started by imitating Japanese dolls, then with the help of many well-known local artists started adapting a Thai style to her creations. The broad choices of exhibits over the years have managed to appeal to the aesthetic senses in children and adults alike. Dolls on display reflect eight types of categories: khons and khon masks, village life, hilltribe people, dolls for chldren, puppets, dolls from other countries and dolls made to order.

Siriraj Medical Museum "Insight into 's Medical History"

Housing some interesting specimens of Thailand's contemporary medical history, the has unique collections of medical and anatomical equipment. It has 6 permanent exhibits which include Anatomy, Congenital Disorders, Forensic Pathology, Thai Traditional Medicine, and Toxicology. One of its most interesting displays is the by br1dotcom mummified remains of Si Quey Sae Urng, a Cannibal serial killer of the 1950's. The National Museum of Royal Barges takes you through a unique journey of the city's cultural history through its striking displays of Royal Barges. Their eight stunning displays are a piece of master craftsmanship. Ornately carved with intricate decorations, these vessels usually grace royal, state and festival processions on the river. Each of these boats need by shankar s. at least 50 skilled oarsmen and more than 10 crew members to run them. The Suppanahong and Narai Song Suban are the most notable of these barges. Suppanahong, which means Golden Swan was built in 1911 resembling a mythical swan. It was crafted out from a single tree and is also the largest of all. Narai Song Suban depicts a carved image of King Narai on an eagle on the bow. It was built to celebrate the golden jubilee of the king. Nestled on the canal banks, these fragile yet important pieces of Thailand's history are stored in sheds. Apart from the admission charges, you will have to pay an additional amount if you wish to click photographs.
