These moneys, and also the amounts which trading and savings banks have paid to the Commonwealth Government as unclaimed moneys in previous years, may be claimed by depositors or their legal representatives by applying to the ADI concerned.     SCENIC AND HISTORIC DRIVES ROUTE 2 EXPLORERS AND BUSHRANGERS DRIVE DESCRIPTION Hamilton Hume famously began his trek south from his property near Gunning in 1824, however he also explored extensive parts of the Goulburn Plains. Likewise, bushrangers including Ben Hall terrorized travelers along these key transport routes. Explore from Gunning to Collector and get a sense of this history. POINTS OF INTREST Gunning Your journey back to the time of the explorers and bushrangers starts in the historic village of Gunning. Explorer Hamilton Hume established a sheep property here in 1821, and soon after the area became an official settlement. In 1824 Hume and Captain William Hovell set off on their famous expedition south to what is now Melbourne. In 1840, bushrangers Thomas Whitton and his ruthless gang held up the town. Hamilton Hume’s brother, John Kennedy Hume and a group of local men faced up to the bushrangers, but John Hume was killed. You can find his grave, and those of others from this time, in the Gunning General Cemetery at the end of Wombat Street. Gunning features a whole range of interesting historical buildings and sites dating from this time onwards, featured in the self-guided Heritage Walk of Gunning. Fish River After exploring Gunning’s rich history, and maybe enjoying refreshments in one of the delightful cafés, it is time to head east out of town on the Cullerin Road. Around 5 km out of Gunning you will find a commemorative memorial erected in 1924, marking the start of Hume and Hovell’s expedition in 1824.

ALL VICTIMS MATTER RECONCILIATION OF BALKAN FAITHS AND PEOPLES: AN ASSESSMENT OF RECENT PROGRESS By Vjekoslav Perica Vjekoslav Perica is a Croatian-American historian, author of, among other things, Balkan Idols: Religion and Nationalism in Yugoslav States (Oxford University Press, 2002; Belgrade, 2006). His most recent publication is “Serbian Jerusalem: Inventing a Holy Land in Europe’s Periphery, 1982- 2019,” Chapter IX, in Nadim N. Rouhana and Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian, eds. When Politics Are Sacralized: Comparative Perspectives on Religious Claims and Nationalism (Cambridge University Press, 2020). Perica holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, USA. In the 1970s in former Yugoslavia he was a basketball player, and before the war, a jurist and journalist until coming to America in 1991.

Allan du Toit Canberra, October 1996 Ill Abstract This subthesis sets out to study the place of the aircraft carrier in Australia's post-war defence force. Few changes in naval warfare have been as all embracing as the role played by the aircraft carrier, which is, without doubt, the most impressive, and at the same time the most controversial, manifestation of sea power. From 1948 until 1983 the aircraft carrier formed a significant component of the Australian Defence Force and the place of an aircraft carrier in defence strategy and the force structure seemed relatively secure. Although cost, especially in comparison to, and in competition with, other major defence projects, was probably the major issue in the demise of the aircraft carrier and an organic fixed-wing naval air capability in the Australian Defence Force, cost alone can obscure the ftindamental reordering of Australia's defence posture and strategic thinking, which significantly contributed to the decision not to replace HMAS Melbourne.
