It is the largest Italian port, with a noteworthy nexus of railway and highways and a large international airport. Naples is the largest city in south Italy and one of the most beautiful, particularly around the Bay of Naples. The capital city of Campania, Naples is the third most populated city in Italy (after Rome and Milan), with over a million inhabitants, and it is the most important industrial center and trading port for the South. It is a sprawling metropolis that was founded by Greeks, enlarged by Romans and as a result is rich in history and stunning architecture.
