Danderyd Municipality Launches Comaround Zero™ Mar 18, 2013 12:42 GMT Danderyd Municipality launches ComAround Zero™ Danderyd Municipality has chosen to use ComAround Zero™ to relieve its IT support function. The service is to be rolled out to 500 people in the administrative network. The launch of the self-service function will take place in three stages. Danderyd Municipality believes that the Self Service trend will grow in future. Everything in modern societyis heading in that direction, and the same is true in Danderyd Municipality. With automation and smarter, simpler work methods, processes are being speeded up, saving time for employees. Tomas Westerberg, IT Architect at Danderyd Municipality, came into contact with ComAround and this work method in his previous job at Sollentuna Municipality, and recognised the benefit for Danderyd Municipality as well. "The purpose of using ComAround Zero™ is in the first instance to relieve the load on IT Support. We're hoping for a change, with users finding the answers to simpler questions themselves instead of phoning Support. That will allow them to focus on more complex cases, and work more proactively," says Tomas Westerberg. The Municipality's plan is to roll out ComAround Zero™ to the 500 people working in the administrative network during February, with a possible expansion to more later. The launch will take place in three stages. In connection with the rollout of Windows 7 and Office 2010, the site is being launched with a selected basic range of guides packaged under the title "New IT Workplace". The documentation about telephony will then be integrated. In the final stage, they will add their own guides for their business systems to ComAround Zero™. About Danderyd Municipality Danderyd Municipality is a Swedish municipality located about ten kilometres north of Stockholm. The municipality is divided into four areas – Danderyd, Djursholm, Enebyberg and Stocksund. The five visions created were examined as regards measures that decision makers at other levels in society need to take in order to make local adaptation possible. Dependencies on other levels in society are strong regarding supply of water and treatment of sewage, energy supply and cooling, the built environment and care for the elderly, showing the strong integration of organisations at various levels in Swedish society. Barriers to adaptation relate not only to how global companies, government agencies and regional authorities act, but also to the degree of privatisation in municipalities, where poor skills in public procurement pose a barrier to adaptation. ß 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. 1. Background and aim of the study Adaptation to climate change on the local level is a new challenge that will call for considerable efforts by many municipal authorities [1]. When planning for the next 20–30 years, measures to cope with more extreme weather events such as heatwaves, intense precipitation and rising sea levels are of special importance as regards securing provision of services such as drinking water, sanitation, energy, care and education [2].

  • Lease Versus Buy Decision of Real Estate for Foreign Diplomatic Missions in Stockhom, Sweden
KTH Architecture and The Built Environment Department of Real Estate and Construction Management Master Of Science In Real Estate Management Thesis no. 396 LEASE VERSUS BUY DECISION OF REAL ESTATE FOR FOREIGN DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS IN STOCKHOM, SWEDEN Author: Supervisor: Ruby Bleppony Prof. Hans Lind Stockholm 2015 ABSTRACT Purpose - The purpose of this study is to present a general view on the real estate situation for diplomatic missions in Stockholm, Sweden, and thus identifying factors affecting the lease versus buy decision of their office space and residential facilities, examining the significance of these factors on their decisions. Design/methodology/approach - This paper takes an empirical approach, with questionnaire presented to the 105 embassies in Stockholm. The results were presented coupled with the experience of working in an embassy, bearing on the analysis of this paper. Findings - The results shows that other factors outweigh the financial factor, which has been the bedrock in the decision process to lease or buy real estate for diplomatic mission. The non- financial factor, mainly functionality in the aspects of security, size of the real estate facility and location were more significant in the decision process for DMs. The demand and supply dynamics in the local markets has been demonstrated as also being significant in the LVB decision for DMs, but not as strong as the functionality factor. On the other hand, factors such as bi-lateral relations / institutional factor and cultural factors that affect local market practices were rather insignificant in the decision process. Research limitations/implications - Even though all the 105 diplomatic missions were presented with the questionnaire, the outcome of the empirical survey is however limited to a few embassies and due to the small number of embassies involved in this study, there could be limitations on the statistical generalizability of results due to the small number of embassies involved in the study.
