V Novembri V Kine Lumičre V Cykle Music & Film Oslávi Svoje Výročie TLAČOVÁ SPRÁVA 20. november 2015 V novembri v Kine Lumière v cykle Music & Film oslávi svoje výročie kapela The Who Obľúbený hudobný cyklus Music & Film v bratislavskom Kine Lumière pokračuje v novembri projekciou záznamu koncertu svetoznámej skupiny The Who. V utorok 24. novembra o 20.30 hod. ponúkne divákom britský film The Who: Hyde Park Live (2015) v slovenskej kinopremiére. Film sa premietne pri príležitosti 50. výročia kapely. „The Who sú nepochybne jednou z najslávnejších kapiel rockovej histórie. Tento rok oslávili päťdesiatku koncertom v legendárnom londýnskom Hyde Parku pred 70 000 fanúšikmi. V Kine Lumière bude možné záznam z tohto júnového koncertu na Slovensku vidieť na filmovom plátne po prvý raz,“ hovorí Miro Ulman, dramaturg cyklu Music & Film. Režisérom koncertného záznamu je Chris Rule. The Who vytvárali hudobné dejiny, ovplyvnili celú jednu generáciu a ich hity dodnes milujú fanúšikovia na celom svete. Slávni sa stali nielen vďaka svojim piesňam, no i vďaka živým vystúpeniam plným energie, ktoré zväčša končili deštrukciou gitary či celej aparatúry. K najznámejším patria ich rockové opery Tommy (1969) a Quadrophenia (1973), živý album Live at Leeds (1970) či album Who’s Next z roku 1971. The Who predali vyše sto miliónov kusov svojich albumov, boli uvedení do rock’n'rollovej siene slávy a sedem ich albumov zaradil časopis Rolling Stone medzi 500 najlepších albumov všetkých čias, pričom dva z nich Who’s Next a Tommy sa umiestnili v prvej stovke. „Zaujímavosťou je, že so 126 decibelmi nameranými 32 metrov od pódia na koncerte v Londýne v roku 1976 držali The Who rekord ako najhlasnejšia rocková kapela na svete,“ dopĺňa Miro Ulman. Nových fanúšikov priniesol kapele kriminálny seriál CSI (2000 – 2015). Počas londýnskeho koncertu v Hyde Parku, ktorého záznam budú mať možnosť vidieť diváci Kina Lumière, kapela odohrala svoje hity ako My Generation, Pinball Wizard, Baba O’Riley, Won’t Get Fooled Again, Who Are You a mnoho ďalších. Na koncerte vystúpili aj Roger Daltrey a Pete Townshend, ktorí stáli pri zrode skupiny, pridali sa k nim aj syn Ringo Starra, bubeník Zak Starkey, a basgitarista Pino Palladino. „Pred záverečnou piesňou koncertu Won’t Get Fooled Again z roku 1971, gitarista Pete Townshend vzdal hold bývalým členom kapely. Basgitarista John Entwistle zomrel v roku 2002 na infarkt a bubeník Keith Moon zomrel na predávkovanie v roku 1978. No a pár dní pred koncertom oznámil, že kapela The Who do konca tohto roka ukončí svoju činnosť. Dodal však, že pravdepodobne budú pokračovať v spolupráci so spevákom Rogerom Daltreym, no v kapele s iným názvom,“ uzatvára Ulman. Pravidelný hudobný cyklus Music & Film s mesačnou periodicitou uvádza Kino Lumière od júna 2013. Po polročnej prestávke od apríla do septembra tohto roka uviedol cyklus minulý mesiac záznam koncertu Queen Rock Montreal (2007). NEWWHO ALBUM DUE NOVEMBER 22 A new album from the Who, simply titled Who, (or, possibly Detour), is their first long player in 13 years, and will be released on the Polydor label on November 22. Endless Wire, their 2006 release, though welcome after a 24 year layoff from recording, was a bit of a sprawling mess. The band seem to have got- ten a few more things right this time around. Perhaps influenced by Who co-producer D. Sardy, Pete Townshend seems to have much better sense in editing himself this time around. Endless Wire began it’s life as a mini opera EP entitled Wire and Glass. It was short, punchy, and delivered the goods. By the time it had been fleshed out with more (too much) material, the resulting album was a hit or miss affair that required two vinyl albums to hold all the music. This time, less is more. Eleven songs, on a single LP, all the flab cut away, and no overarching themes or pretentious concepts. The production, judging from the newly issued single track Ball and Chain, finally gets the sound right for the first time since 1978’s Who Are You: diamond hard, with slash- ing guitars the song is a blues that sounds gloriously sloppy in a good way (think Join Together).\ In addition to original members Townshend and vocalist Roger Daltrey, the band, such as it is, in- cludes long time bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Zak Starkey.

Less meetings and communications that don't have a true value...we have far too many meetings and emails that just reiterate the same info over and over and take time away from more important tasks. The transparency in this company from the CEO to my direct leader allows me to trust this company and engage myself more in my job.

Page 1 of 3 “I’m Only Sleeping” is John’s first song on the groundbreaking 1966 Revolver album. Mark Lewisohn describes Revolver as the album which “shows the Beatles at peak of their creativity…one of those rare albums which is able to retain its original freshness and vitality.
