From the industry standard line of 5000 and 9000 pedals to a complete selection of stands and accessories, DW hardware has redefined what drummers expect from their gear. With a foundation firmly rooted in innovation and cutting-edge design, DW has continued to raise the bar by investing heavily in research and development and finding new and unique ways to improve upon every product. In today’s world economy, it’s rare to see metal work done in U.S. But that’s what we do. Our parts are still machined at the Factory Metal Shop in Oxnard, California. It’s the only way quality can be assured at every level. Over the years, DW pedals and hardware have gained a reputation for simply being the best. Some might think that’s a lot to live up to; we think it’s just how we do things. DW HARdwaRE ASSEMBLY, OXNARD, CALIFORNIA 3 DW PEDALS ADRIAN YOUNG CARTER BEAUFORD STEVE SMITH 9000 PEDALS The flagship of the DW pedal line-up, 9000 pedals feature patented innovations, such as an infinite adjustable cam and free-floating rotor. The speed and fluidity of both the 9000 and 9002 are due to a multi-bearing system that reduces friction and improves feel. The 9002 is easily customized via an infinite adjustable cam. Bearings at the casting and cam ensure smooth, effortless action. 9002 9000 The 8002’s heavy-duty, all- metal construction includes a unique diamond base plate. The 8000 combines the adjustable cam from the 9000 fixed on a lightweight hex shaft, just like the 5000. 8002 8000 8000 PEDALS Combining features from both 5000 and 9000 pedals, 8000 Series pedals are perfectly suited for heavier players and offer the throw and power of a fixed cam with the flexibility of moving from an Accelerator-style action, to a Turbo-style action all on the same pedal. The 8000 also comes standard with a dual-adjustable toe clamp, 101 2-way beater and precision universal (8002). 4 KEITH CARLOCK NICKO MCBRAIN VINNIE COLAIUTA 5000 PEDALS The 5000 single pedal and 5002 double pedal have both become industry standards, due in part to a fluid chain-and-sprocket design that provides excellent feel and sturdy metal construction that offers proven road-worthy performance. THE ROAMIN’ TATTLER !~*~________________________ A Guide to the Happening Local Events and the Eventful Local Happenings ~*~! Issue 17 SpecialOCTOBER Spooky DOUBLE Double ISSUE! Issue! October 2019 ——————————————— Joel Peterson Editor-in-Chief A Villa Roma Publication Always Free The ^ Return I To form! NEWWHO ALBUM DUE NOVEMBER 22 A new album from the Who, simply titled Who, (or, possibly Detour), is their first long player in 13 years, and will be released on the Polydor label on November 22. Endless Wire, their 2006 release, though welcome after a 24 year layoff from recording, was a bit of a sprawling mess. The band seem to have got- ten a few more things right this time around. Perhaps influenced by Who co-producer D. Sardy, Pete Townshend seems to have much better sense in editing himself this time around. Endless Wire began it’s life as a mini opera EP entitled Wire and Glass. It was short, punchy, and delivered the goods. By the time it had been fleshed out with more (too much) material, the resulting album was a hit or miss affair that required two vinyl albums to hold all the music. This time, less is more. Eleven songs, on a single LP, all the flab cut away, and no overarching themes or pretentious concepts. The production, judging from the newly issued single track Ball and Chain, finally gets the sound right for the first time since 1978’s Who Are You: diamond hard, with slash- ing guitars the song is a blues that sounds gloriously sloppy in a good way (think Join Together).\ In addition to original members Townshend and vocalist Roger Daltrey, the band, such as it is, in- cludes long time bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Zak Starkey.

It is absolutely freeing to have that kind of dialogue with coworkers and I really feel like it's had an impact on my personal communication.
