Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony Honoring His Holiness the 14 th Dalai Lama U.S. Capitol Rotunda Wednesday, October 17, 2007 1:00 PM

President Bush and the First Lady are scheduled to attend the Capitol Rotunda ceremony awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to the Dalai Lama. Television pool coverage (a switched feed) will be provided by C­SPAN on Cap DA 9. Organizations also may cover this event unilaterally from the second level of the back riser. The White House travel pool will provide pool cuts to be distributed at a time TBA.

Unilateral crews may begin setting up on the back camera riser at 8:00 am on Wednesday. ALL equipment and cable runs to the Rotunda live drop must be in place by 11:00 am to accommodate the security sweep. The live drop in Statuary Hall may not be used to cover this event.

After the ceremony, Speaker Pelosi and the Dalai Lama will address all gathered on the West Front lawn of the Capitol following a morning program featuring Tibetan cultural performances. Set up for the West Front program, which is scheduled to begin at 10:55 am, may commence at 8:00 am. A mult providing audio from all of the West Front festivities will be located near the center camera platform.

Current full­time or temporary Capitol Hill “hard” passes are required to cover the Rotunda ceremony and West Front program.
