Dear Parents and Carers,
Congratulations to Alfie Younger who won a competition run by North Yorkshire Police. Part of his prize was a visit from ‘Bobby’ the Police tractor! Our Year 1 and 2 children thoroughly enjoyed the visit from Bobby and some of the Rural Police on Wednesday morning. Well done Alfie! Also on Thursday, we were visited by ‘Rubicon Scooters’. All of the children in Years 1 to 6 had an amazing day developing their skills and learning about Road Safety.
On Wednesday, children from all ages across the school went with Mr. McCulloch, Mrs. Harker and Miss Birdsall to Catterick Athletics Stadium for the Quad Kids tournament. The children took part in four events: a sprint, a long distance run, a vortex throw and a long jump. The children had an amazing day!
We had a lovely end to the week with a concert for Year 3, 4, and 5 from ‘Meraki’, a guitar and flute duo, this morning. The children loved being able to take part and were mesmerised by their music They asked some extremely thoughtful questions at the end, with many interested in how they got their inspiration for the music.
Looking forward to next week, Year 1 will be working hard completing their Phonics Screenings, good luck to them. We also have a Judo taster day on Tuesday and our Playmaker awards for our Year 5s. The Year 6s will have a busy week, as they’re looking forward to not one but two trips to Riverside Stadium and then to Right click productions. The choir are singing at the Alzheimer’s Society. We look forward to hearing all about them!
For day-to-day enquiries please contact the school office or speak to your child(ren)’s class teacher. As you know, I work for our school for 50% of the week and share my time between school sites, so am not always available. Do remember that our Associate Headteacher, Miss Hodges is Head of School and can be contacted on a daily basis if necessary.

Quad Kids Tournament
Today, children from all ages across the school went with Mr. McCulloch, Mrs. Harker and Miss Birdsall to Catterick Athletics Stadium for the Quad Kids tournament. The children took part in four events: a sprint, a long distance run, a vortex throw and a long jump. We had amazing fun along the way!
The children were excellent ambassadors for the school and participated superbly in the events. We were all very proud of their efforts, participation and behaviour.

Judo Gold Medal!
On Sunday 3rd June, Chloe Gillie in Year 3 won a gold medal in a judo competition. It was only her 3rd competition and her first gold medal. Chloe is very pleased with her achievement and deservedly so!

Team Rubicon Scooter Day
Yesterday, Team Rubicon visited Trinity Academy Richmond to give the children a ‘Scooter Taster Day’. Many of our children ride their scooters to school or at home, which made this the perfect activity for them to learn new skills (such as balance and coordination) but also key aspects of safety whilst riding.
Each class received a session from Liam the instructor, who was absolutely fantastic. He began by teaching children the basics of balancing and riding safely, progressing to more adventurous tricks such as: the 360, the tailwhip and the bunny hop.
The children loved the sessions and also learned key skills. Well done to the children for a superb day and a HUGE thank you to Team Rubicon. We will definitely see you again!

'Festive Family Fundraiser -With a life limiting condition, Joshua won't see as many Christmas' as many so we've decide to celebrate in June too! And why not.
