Robert W. Kvalvaag «Ya Habibi ya Muhammad»: Sami Yusuf og framveksten av en global muslimsk ungdomskultur Populærmusikk i islam er ikke et nytt fenomen, men i løpet av de siste 10 til 15 åra har denne musikkstilen nådd ut til millioner av unge muslimer, og bidratt til utviklingen av en egen global muslimsk ungdomskultur. Tekstene kan både være sekulære og religiøse, men i denne artikkelen fokuserer jeg på artister som fremfører tekster med eksplisitte religiøse budskap. Selv om islamsk popmusikk har likhetstrekk med vestlig popmusikk er disse to langt fra identiske størrelser, verken når det gjelder tekster eller musikalske uttrykksformer. Det pågår dessuten en debatt i islam om denne musikken er haram eller halal. I denne artikkelen presenteres noen av de viktigste artistene i sjangeren, med vekt på den teologien de formidler. Artikkelen fokuserer særlig på Muhammad-fromheten, slik denne uttrykkes og formidles i den islamske populærkulturen, og på denne fromhetens røtter i ulike islamske tradisjoner. Sami Yusuf Den viktigste artisten i islamsk popmusikk er Sami Yusuf. Sami Yusuf ble født i Iran i 1980, men familien kommer opprinnelig fra Aserbajdsjan. Da han var tre år flyttet familien Yusuf til London. Han utga sitt første album i 2003. Det ble en stor suksess og solgte i over 7 millioner eksemplarer. Etter at han utga sitt andre album i 2005 ble han i Time Magazine omtalt som «Islam’s Biggest Rock Star.» Etter dette har Yusuf kommet med enda tre utgivelser, og han har så langt solgt over 22 millioner album. Han er superstjerne for millioner av unge muslimer i mange land, ikke minst i Tyrkia, Malaysia og Indonesia. -

In a thorough analysis of these works, readers find that not only were these prominent authors drawing from Sufi ideals to venerate the Prophet, but also outputting significant propositions and arguments that helped maintain the preservation of Islamic values, and rebuild Muslim culture in a South Asian subcontinent that had been in a state of colonization for centuries. -

27 July 2016 MEDIA STATEMENT ANIC AND THE GRAND MUFTI OF AUSTRALIA DENOUNCE ISIS KILLING OF FRENCH PRIEST The Australian National Imams Council and The Grand Mufti of Australia were extremely shocked to hear of the brutal slaying yesterday of French Catholic Priest, Father Jacques Hamel in a church in Normandy. We would like to convey our deepest condolences to Father Hamel’s family and friends. It is alleged that the two men responsible for the killing claimed to represent ISIS. We denounce in the strongest possible terms the violent murder of Father Hamel. The Grand Mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed said: “ISIS is an evil organisation that has hijacked the religion of Islam for its own brutal and nihilistic goals. The betrayal of the Islamic faith and violation of its core principles are enough to refute ISIS’s false and absurd claims.” The sanctity of all human life, and especially that of people of religion, religious leaders of all faiths and their places of worship, are of paramount importance in Islam. Sheikh Shady Alsuleiman, President of ANIC added: “We should not allow the brutality of ISIS to cause us to turn against each other nor create disunity. This is exactly what they aim to achieve, but we must stand firm in support of our united opposition to their violence. Offensive Jihad, Slavery and the Islamic State
The Islamic Far-Right in Britain Their own words Offensive jihad Slavery The Islamic state tifrib.com A literalist, puritanical and supremacist form of Islam is being propagated in the UK. This phenomenon causes dismay amongst Muslims who follow more inclusive and tolerant interpretations of Islam. However the more rigid teachings have gained traction and become increasingly mainstream. Hard-line speakers are regularly provided with platforms at well-attended events; the regular Global Peace and Unity festival in London is one prominent example. These speakers do not promote terrorism and will condemn extreme acts such as the 7/7 attacks and the Lee Rigby murder. In fact it is argued by some that they are better placed to dissuade disaffected young Muslims from turning to terrorism, or joining ISIS; however other Muslims strongly disagree and believe that a climate of Islamic supremacy, sometimes sprinkled with anti-Western and anti- kuffar (non-believer) rhetoric, only helps to make the leap to terrorism. This document is not concerned with this subject and although these speakers speak out against terrorism it should not be allowed to distract from the fact that they express ideas and beliefs that many people in the UK would find extremely disturbing. This document is intended to raise awareness of some of the key issues at stake, and demonstrate why it is in no way bigoted to oppose these preachers. It should also be pointed out that even amongst the speakers featured in this document there are differing opinions on many subjects. While some have made derogatory statements about non- Muslims and warn of keeping away from them, others have made genuine attempts to forge good relationships between Muslims and non-Muslims. -

Islamic Article: Proclaiming Ya Rasool-Allah (Salallaho Alaihi Wasallam) Proclaiming Ya Rasool-Allah (Salallaho Alaihi Wasallam) The sensitive issue of whether or not Muslims can call upon the Holy Prophet(SAW) by proclaiming the words 'Ya Rasulullah' needs to be clarified effectively, sincethis issue divides the Muslim community and causes untold pain and friction among the Muslim communities throughout the world. There are basically two schools of thought, one that says that calling upon the Holy Prophet(SAW) is 'shirk' and that any Muslim proclaiming 'Ya Rasulullah' in factgoes outside the pale of Islam and becomes a mushrik. Thus, such a person needs to take the 'shahadah' again in order to became a Muslim or he remains a 'mushrik'. The following statements make clear the beliefs and ideology of this school of thought: 1."Most people call out to the spiritual guides, the Prophets, the Imams, the martyrs, the angels, the devils and the fairies in times of distress and ask them to redress their needs. They also give them offerings for this purpose. Thus they indulge in polytheism.(Taqwiyat-ul-Imaan,P5-6, by Ismail Dehlvi) 2."How can anyone be the redresser of needs, the solver of difficulties and holder of one's hand? People holding such beliefs are out and out polytheist. They cannoteven be allowed to get married to Muslims. And those people who are informed about their evil thoughts and even then do not call them 'apostates and polytheist'are polytheists themselves in the same degree.
