UTRGV (1-1-0) fell behind early in the match as Siena’s (0-1-1) Diego Cruz put in a goal at 14:51 into the match but answered back with a pair of goals in the first half. Senior Jaakko Hietikko knotteD up the match at 1-1 with a goal at 33:41, which was assisted by senior Isaiah Hinds. Less than two minutes later, Hietikko was involved in another play as he assisted freshman Damian Magallan Jr. in scoring a goal giving UTRGV the 2-1 lead at 35:26. UTRGV took the 2-1 leaD into halftime as they outshot Siena 10-3 with three of those 10 shot going on goal. In the seconD half, UTRGV kept the offensive pressure on Siena with 13 shots, seven of which were on goal. Junior Kyle Edwards pusheD UTRGV’s leaD to 3-1 with his first goal of the season at 56:23. Magallan Jr. put the finishing touches with his seconD goal of the season as he took the pass from senior Isidro Martinez and put it between the legs of Siena’s goalie G.
